The Soar Star is an item that will appear in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy. It gives Mario the ability to fly freely through the air, similar to the Wing Cap from Super Mario 64. When obtaining this, his outfit changes. He dons a black cap, black overalls, and a red shirt. Though he flies more freely and his arms send a red trail behind him. He is also able to stop in mid-air, stay in one place, and change direction. It will be used to collect items in the sky.
