These are the beta elements for Mario Smash Football.

Beta elements

Early videos and screenshots showed that there were no items in the game. The costumes of many characters were very different as well. Donkey Kong had another voice. Mario's voice was also different, making it possible that all characters had different voices. Additionally, the sidekicks could perform special shots much like the captains' super strikes and the method to pull off these shots were similar as well as the attribute of these shots were worth two points. The captains also had special shots but in a different way to the sidekicks'. A sample of this is Mario's special move, where he fully charges the ball and kicks it upwards and then jumps high. On a brief animation, Mario draws a Hammer while a meter appears to determine the number of balls and the power to shoot the ball towards the goal. All of these special moves were dumped in the final revision of the game but were taken for the creation of the sidekicks' Skillshots and captains' Mega Strikes in Mario Smash Football's sequel Mario Strikers Charged Football.
