Hot Air Balloons are objects that have appeared in a few Mario and Donkey Kong games. They made their first cameo in 'the 'Super Mario World remake in the introduction where Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach ride a balloon to go to Dinosaur Land for a vacation. The balloons make another appearance in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where Mario rescues Princess Peach. Mario and Peach escape in the balloon, but Luigi is unable to board prior to liftoff. Blue Toad and Yellow Toad then allow Luigi into their balloon, and they fly away to safety.

Hot Air Balloons also appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2, in which they are helpful in letting the monkeys traverse across the lava pool.
