Hint movies
Hint Movies in the castle.

Hint Movies are special movies that give the players hints in the game New Super Mario Bros. Wii. These hint movies are found in Princess Peach's Castle. The player must pay Star Coins to watch them. After using a Toad House, players get a message to visit the castle and watch hint movies. This, however, is optional although the castle is already open when the player starts the game.

The available hint movies are:

  • Infinite 1-Ups - shows the player how to get many or even unlimited 1-Ups.
  • Secret Goal - shows the player a secret exit in a level.
  • Star Coins - shows the player how to get a certain star coin in a level.
  • Super Skills - shows the player the "skills" of the developers.

All four movies are not available for each level.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, a similar concept called the "Tip Network" appears. This feature, however, is free.
