Dark Lakitus are the sinister relatives to Lakitus. Although at first glance they are identical to their cousins, many subtle details separate them. Firstly, they are slightly darker and more brown. Secondly, they have a mean look on their face. Finally, Dark Lakitus throw Sky Blue Spinies instead of Spiny Eggs.
Dark Lakitus are only encountered in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Of the Dark Lakitus in the game, the only fightable ones are in the Pit of 100 Trials.

- They may look mean, but the clouds still have the smile.
- Despite the fact that they have Dark in their name and there are Dark Spinies in the game, Dark Lakitus do not appear in Super Paper Mario.
