Cosmic Slalom is a Duel Minigame in Mario Party 8. The name is a pun on "Cosmic Slam".
Gameplay
The two players' goal is to make their way through a slalom course on a hovercraft, without running through the electric fences, which wastes time. To temporarily pick up speed, the player can use a speed boost, which also allows them to bombard through the fences with no effect. However, the speed boost can be used no more than three times.
Trivia
- The mini-game is very similar to the special stages in Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
- A glitch caused by using the speed boost right before passing the finish line causes the player to pass through a black wall and actually exit the tunnel into space.
