'''Captain Falcon''' (full name '''Captain Douglas Jay Falcon''') is an F-Zero racer, and also a secret bounty hunter with a mysterious past. In the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|''Super Smash Bros.'' series]], he appeared as a secret character in the first game, then returned as a default one in the [[Super Smash Bros. Melee|sequel]]. But in its sequel, ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', he appears as an unlockable character.

==''Super Smash Bros.'' Series==
In ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', he is the fastest character. His attacks, however, despite being powerful, are slow. The only exception is his attack when repeatedly pressing the A button. In ''Super Smash Bros.'', he was an unlockable character, unlocked by beating 1-P Mode in under 20 minutes with any character, and then beating him. However, in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'', he was a default character. He also received the Dash-B attack, [[Raptor Boost]], in Melee.
Captain Falcon has a unique way of using weapons. For example, Captain Falcon is unable to smash the [[Sandbag]] away in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s Home-Run Contest using the [[Homerun Bat]]. According to the [[trophy]] information of the [[Star Rod]], it has the most power when it is used with a Smash Attack of Captain Falcon or [[Sheik]].

Captain Falcon appears as a playable character in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', but is no longer the fastest character in the game, being beaten only by [[Sonic the Hedgehog]]. In the [[Subspace Emissary]], he saves [[Captain Olimar]] from an enormous [[R.O.B.]] Later, he and Olimar save [[Donkey Kong]], with the help of [[Diddy Kong]] and [[Fox]] and they join a team with them. Later, after getting in the Subspace Factory, they meet up with [[Samus]] and [[Pikachu]] but soon, a hologram of [[Ganondorf]] appears and gets all R.O.B.s in the factory to burn the [[Ancient Minister]]. The Minister turns out to be a R.O.B. himself, who joins Falcon's team, and then, after the other R.O.B.s plant a [[Subspace Bomb]], the whole team decides to leave the area.

Captain Falcon calls his [[Falcon Flyer]] and after everyone gets on they all fly to the desert where they meet up with everyone else. Beofre that though, [[Ridley]] attacks but he is taken care of. Captain Falcon's fighting techniques are shared with [[Ganondorf]], who has similar abilites, but is slower and has more powerful attacks. Captain Falcon is voiced by ''Ryo Horikawa''.

==Profile Information from ''Super Smash Bros.==
''A regular pilot in the great galactic race F-ZERO Grand Prix, Captain Falcon is skilled at collecting prize money. Much about his past remains hidden in shadow, but it's clear that many a villain held a powerful grudge against him.

| Usually a relentless bounty hunter, Captain Falcon shifts gears to become a race pilot once the F-Zero Grand Prix begins. His beloved racer, the Blue Falcon, can exceed the speed of sound, and he knows how to drive it; he'll go down as one of the all time-greats. Now 36 years old, Captain Falcon wears his F-Zero X visor.

| Falcon's style is a balanced combination of raw power and speed. His attacks are slow, but when combined with Falcon's high mobility, he's a formidable combat force. The Falcon Punch packs the highest degree of destructive power, while the explosive Raptor Boost can be used to smash airborne foes into the depths.

| The Knee Smash, used in midair on foes in front of you, is slow and has a short reach, but if it connects, it'll send foes flying a long way on a low trajectory. Falcon uses his Falcon Dive to grab an enemy in midair and fling them away with an explosive blast. He can do this technique repeatedly without landing, so it can also be used as a recovery move.

| align=center | A skilled F-Zero pilot and resourceful bounty hunter. All that's known of his past is that he hails from Port Town. He's won fame and fortune outracing his opponents in his beloved Blue Falcon. His incredible athleticism and never-say-die attitude makes him the pilot to turn to in times of trouble.

| align=center | Captain Falcon's Final Smash. His beloved ship, the Blue Falcon, roars onto the screen once he touches a foe in front of him. The enemy gets sent to a racetrack, at which point the Blue Falcon screams down at a ridiculous speed and launches the unlucky victim. What track is it? Where did the machine come from? This is one technique that's an utter mystery.

==Trivia==
*One of Captain Falcon's alternate costumes is that of his evil clone, Blood Falcon. He wears his red clothing, and even has a patch on his uniform saying "25 - Blood Hawk", which corresponds to number and name of Blood Falcon's own [[F-Zero Racer]](which is called "Hell Hawk" in Japan). His All-Star trophy in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'' depicts him with this costume. The only difference from this alternate costume and Blood Falcon's design, actually, is the emblem on the helmet, which is still the falcon emblem (Blood Falcon has a skull emblazoned on his helmet).
*Although he didn't make a personal appearance, his F-Zero racer, the Blue Falcon, appeared in [[Nintendo Monopoly]]. It acted as a Station, replaced Pennsylvania Railroad, and cost $200, just like all stations.
*A model of Captain Falcon's Blue Falcon can be seen inside [[Hinopio]]'s Hino Mart in ''[[Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars]]''.
*The red alloy in ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'' appears to look like Captain Falcon just like the male wire frame.
