Mario and Luigi fighting Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L.

Bowser Memory ML are encountered in Bowser's brain in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. When the plumber brothers and Starlow get to the brain, a strange creature scans the bros and creates badly made memory versions (possibly called "memory" as they look like Mario & Luigi sprites from early Mario games) of Mario and Luigi. They seem to have the personality of the Bros planted in them, as if they attack Bowser Memory L a few times, he'll hide offscreen.

One of Bowser Memory M's attacks is consuming a memory Super Mushroom and then jumps to hit colored blocks above him, a reference to the classic breakable brick blocks. Once broken, debris from the blocks will fall on the Bros, who must counter by using their hammers. If the block is red, the debris will fall on Mario. If the block is green, the debris will fall on Luigi. After all the blocks are broken, a memory of a Koopa will then touch Bowser Memory M, causing him to shrink (another classic reference).

Another attack causes a memory of a Starman to appear while Bowser Memory M absorbs it and tries to ram the Bros. A single coin may pop up at times to show how he will attack; if the coin is on the ground, he'll do a ram. If the coin is in the air, he'll jump over the bro. If he hits a bro, he will be knocked off the stage, a reference to classic Mario platformers where enemies are knocked off the stage when touched by a starman-infused Mario.

Bowser Memory L has his own special attack where he's chased by a memory Boo. Bowser Memory L will run in circles around Mario and Luigi while the memory Boo chases him, and will stop after a set number of "rotations" or if the memory Boo is stomped on.

Bowser Memory L also has an attack where he grabs a hammer and then trips, sending it flying in an arc similar to the hammers thrown by Hammer Mario. The bros must use their own hammers to deflect the attack.

Sometimes, if memory-Mario gets hurt, memory-Luigi will throw a memory-mushroom healing 40 HP.

Once one of the two memory bros are defeated, their brother will pick up a memory 1-up Mushroom to revive them and bring them back into the battle, though they may not do so right away. Both memories must be defeated to win the battle.

Bowser Memory MLX

Template:Bisenemy Bowser Memory MLX is also included in the Gauntlet. Mario and Luigi have to defeat their counterparts in less than 10 turns.
