Big Bungee Piranha

Big Bungee Piranha is the boss of World 2 of Yoshi's Island DS. It is a giant, purple Bungee Piranha Plant that hangs from the ceiling and lunges down to bite Yoshi. To beat him, Yoshi must eat Nipper Plants and make eggs, then stand on top of a Chomp Rock, and when Big Bungee Piranha reaches down to devour him, Yoshi must move out of the way quickly, and Big Bungee Piranha will bite down on the Chomp Rock and howl in pain for a few seconds, revealing his weak spot; his tongue. After the strategy is repeated two more times, the massive creature will be defeated and fall at Yoshi's feet.

Big Bungee Piranha somewhat resembles, and may have replaced Naval Piranha from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. The Big Bungee Piranha has several Bungee Buds.

Trivia

• This Piranha Plant resembles the Prickly Piranha Plant from Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
• When the player enters the room, the floor and ceiling are already covered in large spiny Piranha vines. This means that this may be some kind of a nursery for the rest of the Piranha Plants in the area. It could also be an error, as Kamek did not increase the size of the Bungee Piranha until after Yoshi arrived.
