Now I see why you two have been uploading all these combinations. TVTrash (talk) 02:08, 20 January 2014 (EST)

We're brilliant. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 02:10, 20 January 2014 (EST)

In 1-on-1, when the player's final challenger is introduced, the challenging character has a nickname of sorts. E.g. Perfect Luigi, Pretty Girl Daisy, Bad Boy Koopa Kid. Should these be included? And, if so, where? J-Yoshi64 (talk) 21:38, 15 January 2015 (EST)

Hey go ahead and add them! Specifically in the character vehicle combination section, underneath their names. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 22:11, 15 January 2015 (EST)
Small problem: I only know those three. Time to go to Super Duel Mode! If only my brother weren't playing something else at the moment... J-Yoshi64 (talk) 19:27, 17 January 2015 (EST)
Okay, so I have all the nicknames I just need to know where in the chart to put them. Let's take "Last Hero Mario"'s section to brainstorm.
Last Hero Mario
Mario's mugshot from Mario Party 5
Super Dash
Mario's prize machine. Well-balanced, like our hero!
Mario's prize machine. Well-balanced, like our hero!
Body Type: Choo-Choo Body
Tires: Star Tires
Weapon: E. Gadd Cannon

Should the nickname be in place of the actual name as shown above? If it should be separate, should it just have the nickname, or should it say "Nickname: Last Hero Mario"? And where would the nickname go, if separate? Right underneath Mario's name? Should it be underneath his picture? Should it be with the machine parts (which makes no sense)? Split machine parts into their own articles?

I'll preface this by saying I have never played MP5 and as such this is WAY out of my territory, but the machine parts in this game seem to be the precedent for what MK7 and MK8 do, and have their own statistics. I feel we can and should split them. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:40, September 4, 2022 (EDT)

They do have their own statistics but I don't think it's very well documented on how they interact with the statistics. It's sort of similar to that stupid Mii dress-up sidemode in Mario Tennis Open where technically each part has a stat associated but Mario Tennis Open handled that even more obtusely with no good explanation of any stat and you're given a confusing pie chart to show a stat; it's hard to tell how a part modifies stats. They even have hidden attributes, such as weapons having weight (the Mr. I laser for instance won't decrease the machine speed as much as the DK Gun will). The Scholar Body ALSO does take less damage from hazards per description but isn't shown in the graph; the Wiggler Tires can turn in place. Some weapons have strange offensive capabilities too such as the Mr. I Laser (it's a broken weapon lol) doesn't always take off two hearts but will if there are only two hearts remaining; maybe it does damage in decimals). Wonder how easily internal variables can be obtained for this... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:04, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
I'd argue that some of the parts, most notably the weapons, actually change more in terms of gameplay than the vehicle parts in Mario Kart so I definitely think they should get their own articles. Plus, the names in other languages section is an eyesore for individual part names and I'd like to get that sorted out. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 20:16, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
