Superstar Showdown is the final mini-game being played at the end of the Story Mode, or Star Battle Arena. Bowser is good to his word and give the player back the Star Rod. At the last second, Bowser has second thoughts and challenges you to the final match. You are pitted against him in the deep depths of space. Thankfully, you have the Star Rod to protect you.

Gameplay

Bowser is flying in his Clown Copter, and has 10 Health Pionts. You have the Star Rod, and have 5 health points. A balence of Attack and defense is very important. This battle is seperated into 4 parts:

  • Part One (HP 10-8) This one is quite simple. All Bowser will do will spit 3 medium sized fireballs. Move Left or Right and follow up with a Energy Ball.
  • Part Two (HP 7-5) Two Bullet Bill Blasters will be attached to the Clown Copter now. He Attacks with 4-6 homing bullets. Swiftly move left or right until the last bullet has flown by, and use the Energy Ball.
  • Part Three (HP 4-2) Bowser's Copter will upgrade his blasters and will have a laser shooter. He begins by shooting a series of lasers back and forth. Move left or right at the right speed to evade them all. Next, 6-8 red Bullet Bills will come at you. They are faster than before, so you need to go faster.
  • Part Four (HP 1) This is surprizingly easy. All he will do will spit out a large fireball, which can be easily evaded.
