Players climb by pressing the indicated button on the next handhold. Pressing the wrong button causes the player to fall back one handhold. The first player to the top wins.

When playing by him or herself, the player must climb the peak in the fastest time. To achieve the bonus objective in Time Attack mode, the player must not mess up.

Ending

At the top of the cliff, a flag with the player's emblem is raised; the height of the flag depends on his or her position. The player strikes a victory pose.

Trivia

  • This game is similar to Domino Effect from Mario Party DS, since the player must press the correct buttons to move, except they cannot automatically lose by getting tripped up.
