Template:Minigame-infobox Messy Memory is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 3 and Mario Party Superstars.

Gameplay

Before the minigame starts, players have to try to memorize the items' locations on the shelves with the next few seconds they have. After that, many Toads (specifically red Toads in Mario Party Superstars) come onto the screen and tamper with the toys behind a cloud of white smoke. Once the Toads are done, it is revealed that they knocked down some of the items, leaving some in their proper places. The screen splits into four.

When the minigame starts, the players have to lift the items and place them back on the shelves in their proper spots in a matter of 30 seconds. The better the player memorized an item's location, the more accurate the placement. Once done, the player can close their curtains to prevent others from copying. They can open the curtains if they feel uncertain about the placement so they can change at any time—and wait for the timer to run out. When the timer runs out, the game ends; all the curtains close regardless of whether a player is done or not. Then all the curtains reopen, and the game shows the correct placement of each item from left to right. The player(s) who put the most items in their proper spots win(s). If a player earns fewer than three points, they will automatically lose.

In Mario Party 3, if everyone scores three points or less, it is a draw. In Mario Party Superstars, this occurs if everyone scores zero.
