Template:Minigame-infobox Grabbin' Gold is a 1-Vs.-3 minigame that is found in Mario Party 8. The minigame consists of getting gold Coins.

Introduction

There is a Mii or Koopa Troopa at a vending machine, attempting to get a Penguin doll, then the camera moves right to the two other vending machines. The four players arrive at the scene and are excited to play. The solo player takes the machine on the left and the trio takes the one on the right.

Gameplay

The solo player has a large basket, and the trio have three small baskets, one each. They must move their baskets to grab coins and avoid Spiny Eggs. If a player catches a Spiny Egg, they will be unable to move for a short time. There is no winning or losing at this game (unless no coins were caught).

Controls

Both the solo player and the trio hold the Wii remote upright. They must tilt to controller left or right to move his or her basket.

Ending

At the end of the minigame, all the players do a winning pose (or slumps in disappointment if no coins were collected) and the coins they collected are added to their inventory.

In-game text

  • Rules"Bonus minigame! Move your basket to catch as many falling coins as you can! It's three against one!"
  • Hint"If you get hit by a Spiny Egg, you won't be able to collect coins for a few moments."
