They are one of the many ghosts live in Evershade Valley, and are typically friendly, but when the Dark Moon shattered they became very mischevious. There is one main Polterpup that appears throughout story mode, but other Polterpups only appear in the ScareScraper.
In the ScareScraper mode, they are feature in their own mode: Polterpup Mode. In Polterpup Mode, the Luigis must hunt down as many Polterpups as possible by using their Darklight Devices to see the footprints.
