History

Mario Kart 7

Peach under the effect of the Lucky 7 in Mario Kart 7.

The Lucky 7 first debuted in Mario Kart 7. It is one of the items found in the Item Boxes. When used, seven items will appear surrounding the racer's kart by rotating similar to the Triple Green or Red Shells. The racer can then use them one by one when the item is in front of the player[1]. The items that the racer gets may vary. The player can obtain, for example, Green Shells, Red Shells, Bananas, Mushrooms, Stars, Blooper, or Bob-ombs.

Racers that come closer to the driver with the items of the Lucky 7 can be hit by the Shells or the Bananas. However, the item has a drawback in that if the racer gets a Bob-omb, the Bob-omb will explode if it collides with anything. When that happens, the racer loses all of the power-ups that the Lucky 7 offered.[2]
