The player starts out on a flat surface, where the raft is docked on the lava. After jumping on the moving platform in the first half, a few Buzzy Beetles are encountered, moving around on rotating Brick Block structures. When the player approaches the structures, they fold out at a 90-degree angle, dropping the Buzzy Beetles onto the platform. Soon after, Thwomps appear. The player can bait these Thwomps into crashing into lava, destroying them. Shortly after, the Checkpoint Flag appears along with two ? Blocks, one of which has a Super Leaf inside. Another raft is docked here. Throughout the second half, the raft quickly approaches a quad of fireball arches that travel in an arch shape and the second Star Coin rotating above. The level's Red Ring is located directly after this, floating above a set of rotating Brick Block structures. Shortly after, two sets of fireball arches and a red pipe appear on-screen. A few more sets of fireball arches are followed by a vertical section of coins with Hidden Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom in between them. The player will then approach the boss door; a Hidden Block containing a Super Leaf is next to the door.
