Let me see if I can explain better. You browse for your image by clicking "browse", any format is fine but as said in MarioWiki:Image use policy BMPs are strongly not suggested. The filename will automatically show up for you, you can change it manually for the wiki if wanted. In the image summary, any personal image templates or {{aboutfile}} can be used, or just a general description will suffice. Then you pick the corresponding license from the drop-down list, and finally click "upload".
