'''Toadsworth the Younger'''<ref>"''Toadsworth the Younger...the princess...she won't stop crying!''" -Toadsworth, ''Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time''</ref> is [[Toadsworth]] in his middle-aged years who appears in ''[[Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time]]''. Ever since he was young, he has been worrying about [[Princess Peach]], though much less than the future Toadsworth. He and the present Toadsworth team up and teach the Mario Bros. new moves, including the [[Spin Jump (Mario & Luigi series)|Spin Jump]] and [[Bros. Ball]] (as well as advanced variations of these moves, the [[Baby Spin]] and [[Baby Cakes]], respectively) while trying to entertain [[Baby Peach]].

His younger self looks fairly similar to his [[Toadsworth|future self]] in overall appearance, only with a few differences. He wears a red vest rather than purple, and has a brown mustache (black in-game) rather than the usual white. His mushroom cap is bright beige with brown round spots, and wears a red bowtie, but does not wear the purple dress shirt that his future self wears. Also, unlike his future counterpart, he does not wear glasses or occupy a cane. He also always has his eyebrows raised.

When Baby Peach is sent flying through a hole after the [[Baby Cakes]] move is learned, Toadsworth the Younger says that she is not in another castle, a reference to the line used by various [[Toad (species)|Toads]] in ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]''

==Plot==
In the beginning of ''[[Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time]]'', Toadsworth the Younger meets [[Baby Mario]] and [[Baby Luigi]] and commands them to play with [[Baby Peach]]. By coincidence, [[Baby Bowser]] is also planning his first attack on the kingdom to kidnap Baby Peach. Just as Baby Mario and Baby Luigi arrive for a play date, he breaks into the castle. He defeats Baby Bowser, saving her from the attack.

However, no sooner had Baby Bowser been defeated, the Shroobs begin their attack on the castle. Caught unprepared, the castle is soon declared lost. Realizing that they would be in grave danger if they stay, Baby Bowser calls [[Kamek]] and orders him to bring in the [[Koopa Cruiser]]. He allows Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, and Toadsworth the Younger to flee with him. Toadsworth the Younger places the princess in a stroller and rolls her aboard. 

After the adult Mario and Luigi are rescued from the Shroobs in [[Hollijolli Village]] and brought aboard the Koopa Cruiser, a Shroob missile originating from [[Shroob Castle]] hits the Koopa Cruiser, sending it crashing down into Bowser's Castle, fortunately with no serious injuries. The Mario bros. unite as a team of four and eventually find Toadsworth the Younger with Baby Peach, and all six of them travel to the present Peach's Castle, years after the Shroobs are defeated and order restored.
