:::No...it should remain with information, as a midway point in Super Mario Bros. is different than a Midway Gate in Super Mario World (which is a midway point).  The midway point is a term, while a midway gate is an object. -- Son of Suns
::::I do not remember there even being any kind of checkpoint in the first Super Mario Bros. 09MurphyM 15:42, 29 May 2010 (EDT)
:::::If you get to a certain point in a level in SMB and die, you'll end up back at the checkpoint. There's nothing that actually tells you where the checkpoint is in the levels, though.
Old name
Why is it now "checkpoint flag"? I think it was best suited as checkpoint or midway point, because now, it's only referring to NSMB and it's sequel, and SMG2. And I'm sure several other games have 'checkpoints' as well. And now it's gone. =SWiiboy4ever 17:29, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
I think the wikis policy is that newer name are the ones we go by i think midway flag sounds better but policy is policy Goomba's Shoe15
@Wiiboy4ever - What do you mean? SMG2 isn't the sequel to NSMB...
17:35, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
:I said, SMG, it's sequel, and SMG2. By 'it's sequel', I meant NSMBW. Wiiboy4ever 17:43, 26 May 2011 (EDT)
Trivia add?
Because something like checkpoints appears in Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy (though they don't appear at all in these games) should we add in the Trivia that something like checkpoints appears in these two games? Tsunami
