Unlike regular Buzzy Beetles, Noko Bombettes turn around when they reach a ledge, but they are still immune to [[fireball]]s. Unless a [[Spin Jump]] is used, jumping on a Noko Bombette will cause it to explode after a few seconds. If Mario is caught in the blast, he will take damage.

Noko Bombettes are similar to the Nokobons found in ''[[Super Mario Land]]'' (later renamed to [[Bombshell Koopa]]), with both even being described verbatim as "a turtle with a bomb on its back" in their respective game manuals. However, while Nokobons are [[Koopa Troopa]]s with bombs for shells, Noko Bombettes more closely resemble Buzzy Beetles.
