Fishing Boos (alternatively Fishin' Boos) are ghostly Fishin' Lakitus that ride a cloud without a face. They attempt to hit the player character with a blue flame at the end of their fishing lines. The name "Fishin' Boo" was localized from an early Japanese name, "Fishing Telesa".

Fishin' Boos are the spirits of Fishin' Lakitu found in Super Mario World and Super Princess Peach. They carry a fishing rod and ride a Lakitu's Cloud, much like the living variety. However, instead of a 1-Up Mushroom, Fishin' Boos carry a blue flame and follow Mario or Luigi in a way that makes it hard for them to Jump. Their clouds also do not have faces. A Fishin' Boo has the same immunities as a normal Boo and therefore cannot be jumped on.

History
Fishin' Boo makes another appearance in the Nintendo GameCube version of Yoshi's Cookie, where they appear as the fourth opponent in the game's VS. Mode if the player plays on the Hard difficulty.

Super Mario World
Fishin' Boos debut in Super Mario World, and appear in only one level, Choco-Ghost House. They carry a fishing rod and ride a cloud similar to Lakitu's Cloud but without a face. Also, instead of a 1-Up Mushroom, Fishin' Boos carry a blue flame and follow the player in a way that makes it hard for them to jump. They have the same immunities as a normal Boo and therefore can only be Spin Jumped on. Their sprite depicts their hair as light blue, instead of black, possibly to make it distinguishable from the background.

Super Mario Run
Fishin' Boos also make an appearance in Super Princess Peach as Fishing Boos, and a calmer variety called C. Fishing Boo also appears. Both types reside in Shriek Mansion on Vibe Island, and only Rage can defeat them.
Fishing Boos reappear in Super Mario Run as of the version 3.0.4 update, where they are found in the level Fishing Boo Taunts You. Although they are still found carrying harmful blue flames, they can also carry items such as Super Mushrooms, coins, color coins, and Super Stars. In this game, despite the flames they carry, the enemies themselves are completely inoffensive, and can be defeated with a stomp attack, which reveals that they appear to be wearing sheets and brown shoes. Due to using 3D models, their turning animations are much smoother than before, making the flame's movement more predictable.

Nintendo Puzzle Collection
They were also slated to appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, as an unknown object was named similar to Fishin' Boo.
A Fishin' Boo makes another appearance in the Nintendo Puzzle Collection version of Yoshi's Cookie, where they appear as the fourth non-player opponent in the game's VS. Mode if the player plays on the Hard difficulty.

Super Princess Peach
A "Fishin' Boo" appears in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story in Bowser's level up screen. However, it was actually a Boo with a fishing rod and not an undead Lakitu.
Fishing Boos also make an appearance in Super Princess Peach, and a calmer variety called C. Fishing Boo also appears. Both types reside in Shriek Mansion on Vibe Island, and only Rage can defeat them.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Fishing Boos were also likely going to appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, as an unknown object was named similar to Fishing Boo, but the idea was scrapped.
