Chompy is one of Tutankoopa's Chain Chomps and was the first one to rebel against him and subsequently chase him. At the end of Paper Mario, Chompy, along with several other Chain Chomps, finally catch Tutankoopa. It is unknown if Chompy is really Chompy's name or if it is simply a nickname given to it by Tutankoopa. Chompy is the only Chain Chomp in Paper Mario that can be battled.

*Tattle: You've heard about Chomps before I'm sure. They're made of such hard stuff that most of your attacks won't even faze them. I heard a rumor that the Chomps are a little peeved at Tutankoopa because he works them so hard.
