The level begins with a series of Trampolines guiding Mario to an area reminiscent of the beginning of World 1-1, ending with Mario collecting a Big Mushroom. Mario will then be forced to pound two Switches, defeating multiple enemies near ? Block text that reads "35". After being guided by Twisters to bypass an 8-bit Mario, Mario will be directed atop a moving Buzzy Shell to read the text "1985-2020". Mario will then be moved along a series of Trampolines, Note Blocks, and a Lava Lift to be brought back onto the Buzzy Shell. After moving across several Conveyor Belts, Mario will be brought across some cannons directly to the Goal Pole.
