World 1-4 is the final course of World 1 in Super Mario Bros.. It is a castle course, and the boss is with a Goomba disguised as Bowser.
World 1-4 is the final course of World 1 in Super Mario Bros. and the fourth level overall in said game. It is the first castle course of the game and the series. A fake Bowser is encountered at the end, which is actually a Little Goomba in disguise.

This level has been re-created in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 as Classic World 1-4, and in New Super Mario Bros. 2 in the Gold Classics Pack from Coin Rush on the final course along with World 1-1 from said game.

Mario starts the level On an elevated area with block stairs heading downwards. There is a gap with lava and, right after it, a block. There are two lava gaps with a Firebar on the ground between them. There is also a Question Block with a Fire Flower in it. Past it, ta corridor with three Firebars must be crossed. Going through it, Mario reaches a room with three Firebars, two on the floor and one on the roof, along two Used Blocks. Mario, then, finds a room with six hidden Blocks, where the False Bowser's fireballs start to appear. He can use a gap to avoid the fireballs and then, Mario reaches the False Bowser on a bridge and a small platform moving from side to side above it. If Mario gets past the False Bowser using the platform or running under it and touches the Ax, the bridge collapses, causing the False Bowser to fall into the lava. A Mushroom Retainer is saved and Mario gains access to the World 2.

In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, the player can collect five Red Coins, find a hidden Yoshi Egg, and get a medal based on their score. The Yoshi Egg is found in the top-middle Hidden Block in the larger empty space with the other Hidden Blocks before the fake Bowser, and the score to beat is 13000 (12000 in the Japanese version). The Red Coin locations are:
*Above the level's ? Block
*In the hallway with the Fire-Bars
*Red Coins three and four are in the proceeding area, between the Fire-Bars
*Above the fake Bowser
Additionally, the mushroom retainer at the end of the castle is replaced with a door to the end results area.
