When we have music bars on our wiki that play the tracks when we push the play button, where do we get that audio? Lord Falafel (talk) 20:52, September 30, 2019 (EDT)
Plus, you can download YouTube videos and if the original gets deleted, you can just reupload it and tell many friends to reupload reuploads of the reupload. Lord Falafel (talk) 20:54, September 30, 2019 (EDT)
:You act as if I'm somehow not aware of this. My point in removing the link is that, besides it being "unprofessional" to be seen as potentially endorsing piracy (not that I personally care myself, but I do believe the Wiki has a thing about linking to certain things), we already have a valid source for the track list. As for the music samples we play, they're usually just that - samples, not a rip of the entire album. -- 20:58, September 30, 2019 (EDT)
Doppelganger Confusions
I see where you are coming from with those characters not making sense as doppelgangers since they are their own character but simply sharing little traits to the Mario Bros and possibly paralleling at them too. The reason why I did it for the Massif Bros. because was I was just trying following the same idea with the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga characters. But since the others should not be qualifying I can certainly get them removed since they are not types of clones at all it was quite confusing for me which is technically my fault. gamermakerguy
:Yeah, no, I get what tripped you up, and I might've come of as more vitriolic than I actually was. The idea with the doppelganger categories is that the character in questions significantly resemble who they're a doppelganger of, lest the point be lost (though I am aware the "paper thin disguise" trope is a thing, and there's cases like Bowser Memory ML where the resemblance isn't as exact but still v. clearly intended).
:It's pretty evident that characters like Big Massif and his crew, as well as other pairs like the Hammerhead Bros., are meant to play off the sibling dynamic that Mario and Luigi have (red elder v. green younger, stocky v. thinner, etc. etc.), and of course that's also deliberate. They're parallels that draw attention to the game's mechanical and storyline focus on the Bros. and their bond. (hell, I've noticed it with the bloody Junior Shrooboid!) Parallels do not always a doppelganger make, though - the potential for imitating or impersonating the latter is a big distinction, and besides that, I'm just generally wary of falling into the habit of overcategorization. Not that it's an unreasonable mistake at all, mind you.
Anyhow, I'm glad I could possibly help clear that up, and I appreciate you reaching out to me (incidentally as I was prepping a post on the Big Massif article's talk page, haha). -- 00:59, October 4, 2019 (EDT)
Spiky Snifit
Whn I said "a cross between" I didn't mean any biological gibberish or anything like that, I meant simply from a design standpoint. I was trying to avoid the former. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:55, October 5, 2019 (EDT)
:Right, you can fix the wording accordingly then if you like. -- 02:59, October 5, 2019 (EDT)
My current situation
I’ve been working with Mid188 with these gauntlet artworks, he was uploading them while I was putting them on their pages. So I said that so that hopefully someone else could do that instead during my absence since I know the majority most likely won’t read my userpage. Mario Sakuraba (talk) 14:15, October 10, 2019 (EDT)
:You could still literally just wait until you get home and then finish whatever's left over. There's no obligation to do it all ASAP at all, and I doubt anyone would mind if it waited - life takes priority. -- 14:20, October 10, 2019 (EDT)
"Admin edit"
There's no rule against undoing admin edits. I've undone Alex's edits like 3 or 5 times because they haven't been right. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:15, October 20, 2019 (EDT)
:I realized I'd made a similar mistake seconds after I hit save anyway, but thank you regardless. -- 17:17, October 20, 2019 (EDT)
"Chill"
After you see it being referred to as a remake so many times on this wiki you kinda start to become frustrated. Your specialization is rewriting, right? Then you should know the feeling. 13:32, October 27, 2019 (EDT)
:It's probably a leftover from the way the articles were written on DK Wiki that wasn't immediately changed when their information was ported here. (shrug) It's dumb, but I at least get it. -- 13:34, October 27, 2019 (EDT)
::Right, I admit I didn't see it that way at first. 13:36, October 27, 2019 (EDT)
Request
Hello, I would greatly appreciate if you reviewed this section I just wrote for the "Professor E. Gadd's Research Journal" page. I'm mostly concerned with the coherence and rhythm of my writing. I should mention I used past tense because this is how the story is presented in the journal itself, though if you disagree with this decision you can correct it. 13:26, November 1, 2019 (EDT)
Redirects
Hi, I don't know how it was before your hiatus, but currently, we plain and simply do not link to redirects in mainspace at all. The main reason seems to be that if a page is moved again, the double redirect will simply lead to the redirect page. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:56, March 1, 2020 (EST)
:Fair 'nuff. Thanks for the info. -- 15:14, March 1, 2020 (EST)
RE: Not too urgent
Sorry for the somewhat late reply; I think the section looks fine, it's just the several things happening in sequence in the cutscene that makes it appear lengthy.
:Good to know. -- 08:44, March 30, 2020 (EDT)
What can I do?
Umm I generally don't know what to do.
I can't find a article that needs fixing... Elijah Guy (talk) 22:33, April 14, 2020 (EDT)
Article
Hello. I am currently expanding the Yoshi's New Island level pages and I am taking inspiration from your own recorded rewrites, specifically those that regard level pages. It would be helpful if you offered me some feedback on this write-up. Thankie you. 11:17, May 4, 2020 (EDT)
:I'll try to follow a less walkthrough-prone style. Thank you again! 11:52, May 8, 2020 (EDT)
::Gotta say that the reason I came to you for feedback is that you explain things in a way that I can read them absent-mindedly and still coherently remember the ideas that I went through. I must admit I'm impressed. Do you usually manage to write everything in one sitting or do you spend some time playing around with the phrasing? I'm talking about more detailed information such as character descriptions and such. 18:24, May 8, 2020 (EDT)
