Foos are white cloud-like enemies that first appeared in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They produce fog that can obscure the player's view. Foos can be defeated with any kind of attack. Their name is derived from Fwoosh, another wind-blowing enemy from Super Mario 64 and its remake.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii marks Foos' debut appearance. They appear only in World 7-5, and create fog periodically. The fog vanishes after a few seconds and can be blown away either by Spin Jumping or by propelling as Propeller Mario.

Foos are a new cloud enemy that appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.  Their only appearance in the game is in World 7-5.
New Super Mario Bros. U
In New Super Mario Bros. U, Foos appear only in Snaking above Mist Valley and behave the same as they did previously.
They act just like a Fwoosh, though its wind only produces fog and does not throw Mario away like Fwooshes did in Super Mario 64. Foos do not have menacing demeanors like Fwooshes, and Foos can be neutralized, unlike Fwooshes.  Mario can get rid of the fog produced by a Foo by doing a Spin Jump, however, if he is equipped with a Propeller, he can clear the fog faster with said method.

Foos can be defeated in every way possible existing in the game, though some of them are in places that Mario can't access.
New Super Luigi U
<br clear=all>
Foos also appear in New Super Luigi U. Here, they are only found in Three-Headed Snake Block.
