MarioWiki:Lists

The Super Mario Wiki no longer uses subpages in the main article namespace. The reasoning behind this is that:

  • Article titles should be as logical and readable as possible
  • Articles should be able to exist on their own merit and not just as an extension of an existing page

To be clear, no namespace other than (main) is affected by this policy.

Naming Convention

Words in an article title should only be capitalized when they're part of an existing title (or the first word of the article title). This convention applies to all pages, not just moved subpages. The table below lists some of the common cases we currently use and what the articles should be renamed to:

Subpage Article
{game}/Glitches List of glitches in {game}
{game}/Staff List of {game} staff
{game}/Beta elements List of {game} beta elements
{game}/Media List of media from {game}
{game}/Quotes List of quotes in {game}

Note that quotes pages already use a similar format, but the notable change here is that "quotes" should now be lower-case in these page titles. For example, List of Quotes in the Mario Golf Series becomes List of quotes in the Mario Golf series due to the capitalization rule.

Special Cases

For atypical cases, best judgement is used which follows the above rule. For example, Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Country (television series) Episodes becomes Donkey Kong Country episodes featuring Donkey Kong. The (television series) bit is excluded because it is only necessary if an identical article title exists for the game. We wouldn't use the word "episodes" for the game, so the parenthesis are not needed. To make up for any confusion, the first line of the article reads: This article lists and summarizes all episodes of the Donkey Kong Country television series featuring Donkey Kong.
