'''Super Piranha Plants''' are giant [[Piranha Plant]]s found in the game ''[[New Super Mario Bros.]]'' and [[New Super Mario Bros. Wii|its sequel]]. They are not to be confused with the [[Piranhacus Giganticus]], which acts just like  regular Piranha Plants. Unlike most Piranha Plants, Super Piranha Plants are ''never'' found inside [[Warp Pipe|pipes]] due to their gigantic size. [[Mario]] must shoot three [[fireballs]] at one to destroy the monstrous plant. When defeated, they will give up eight [[coin]]s instead of the usual one coin. In the sequel, this is reduced to three coins.

There is also a suspiciously large Piranha Plant that cameos in [[Dry Dry Desert (course)|Dry Dry Desert]] of ''[[Mario Kart: Double Dash!!]]''; it can be found in the middle of a large pit of quicksand. It would eat any racing [[kart]] that entered the pit. Only the plant's head is seen, but it is even larger than [[Petey Piranha]]'s. It looks like Petey, but is green, has white spots, and brown thorns. If the racer goes into the pit while using a [[star]], the giant Cactus plant will not eat him or her.
