Luigi then asks Mario when [[Magic Johnson]] is going to show up, as he cannot wait to play a game of basketball with him. Just then, Mario and Luigi hear some thumping, followed by Magic Johnson's own voice, which leads them over to the medicine cabinet. Luigi opens the cabinet and sees Magic standing behind the wall. After greeting Magic, the basketball player tells them that he is glad that they are going to let him practice.

However, Magic quickly turns Mario's plans upside-down by telling them that he wants to practice magic tricks, because he has always wanted to be a magician. Magic then gets Luigi to place his basketball down on the table, and he says the magic words; ''"Hocus pocus. Now you see it, now you don't."'' With that, the basketball vanishes. Luigi asks Magic where the ball went, and Magic explains that he does not know, which has always posed a problem for him. Suddenly, the basketball goes flying into Luigi's side, and Luigi tells Mario to keep their bowling ball away from Magic.

Later on, Luigi has bandages wrapped around his head, and Magic apologizes to Luigi about the bowling ball. Mario says that they just need to practice some more magic, and Magic asks Luigi to pull a rabbit out of a top hat for his next trick. Luigi agrees, waves a wand over the hat while saying some magic words, and succeeds in pulling a rabbit out of the hat. Luigi remarks that trick worked fine, because he feared that something would go wrong. However, Luigi spoke too soon, as the rabbit starts pulling Luigi down into the hat. Mario then makes a remark about a new trick; a rabbit pulling a magician into the hat.
