Fighters equipped with the spirit have reduced weight during battles. In the spirit battle, the player faces an invisible [[Mr. Game & Watch]] on the Battlefield form of the [[Luigi's Mansion (stage)|Luigi's Mansion]] stage.

In the Japanese version of ''Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door'', Vivian is implied to be a {{wp|transgender}} girl.
