World 1-1 is the first level of World 1, and subsequently, of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
World 1-1 is the first level of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It begins immediately outside Peach's Castle and introduces the player to rolling hills and a new power-up, the Propeller Suit. Its completion unlocks World 1-2.

Princess Peach's Castle can be seen in the background at the beginning of the level, just as in New Super Mario Bros. There are also three ? Blocks, a few bricks, and a Goomba. To the right are some moving sections of land, the latter of which has three platforms above it, and a Warp Pipe within it that leads to a room with coins, bricks, and a P Switch. The midway point can be found after exiting the sub-area.

If players have the Propeller Suit, which is accessible in several ? Blocks, they can access a Red Ring on a platform in the air to collect a 1-Up Mushroom. Further along is a rolling hill with a secret alcove; if the player jumps onto the pipe and waits, they are brought to an area with three hidden 1-Up Mushrooms and lots of coins. The pipe itself leads to an area with a Star Coin. After the player jumps over a few pits, the pole can be seen past the last rolling hill.
In the beginning of the stage, just like in New Super Mario Bros., Princess Peach's Castle can be seen in the background. When the player starts, there are three ? Blocks, a few Brick Blocks, and a Goomba. The highest ? Block holds an item, a Super Mushroom for Small Mario, and a Propeller Mushroom for Super Mario. The player must move to the right to see a moving piece of ground. The first few blocks are in style of the first blocks in Super Mario Bros.. They should move farther ahead to find another moving piece of ground there. It has three platforms above it. It also has a green Pipe in it that moves around with it. The player can jump in it to collect coins and 1-Up Mushrooms and head out through the yellow pipe. If they are playing a Toad Rescue Mission a Toad should be yelling out from the ? Block behind them. The player can head forward to hit the Midway Flag. If they spin upwards using the Propeller Suit and go through the Red Ring, Red Coins appear for them to grab. They should then jump off the left side of the platform to find the moving piece of ground. There's a rolling hill and the player can stay in the compartment and get three 1-Ups and dozens of coins. The player is in a hidden area upon exiting. Just before leaving the hidden area there is a block, which they should hit to collect a 1-Up Mushroom. Continuing forward takes the player to the end of the level.

*Star Coin 1: After the midway flag, over three ? Blocks. The player should use a Propeller Suit or a running jump to reach it.
*Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is just after the midway point, floating above two coins and a row of two bricks and a ? Block. Mario and co. can use a Propeller Suit to fly up to it or jump from the nearby hill.
*Star Coin 2: At the end of the platform with the Red Coins, the player should spin to the next platform and then skip the following platform with the Red Koopa and collect another Star Coin.
*Star Coin 2: There will be a spinning ground wheel with a green Warp Pipe submerged inside. After Mario and co. enters the pipe, the second Star Coin is floating high in the air between two pipes with several coins surrounding it. Mario and co. can again reach it with a Propeller Suit, or by wall-kicking.
*Star Coin 3: They should then jump off the left side of the platform to find the moving piece of ground. A pipe moves around in this piece of ground, and when it comes by, the player should go inside of it. If the player goes in the pipe, they should wall kick up or use a Propeller Suit for collect the last Star Coin, then head out the yellow pipe.
*Star Coin 3: Shortly after Mario and co. exits the area with the second Star Coin, the third Star Coin is floating high in the air over a platform. Mario and co. must obtain it either with a Propeller Suit or by using the nearby Koopa Troopa to jump to it.
