Gleamin' Breams are bulky yellow fish from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy Advance game Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. These obese breams appear only in one level, Floodlit Fish. Unlike their red lookalikes, called Bounty Basses, they do not carry any items, and they cannot be defeated. However, Gleamin' Breams have a unique ability: they are bioluminescent, which means they are able to produce and emit light. If the player manages to attack one, using Enguarde the Swordfish's stab, the Gleamin' Bream will make a shocked face and will illuminate the area. This light will fade in a short while, though.
Gleamin' Breams, also spelled Gleaming Breams, are bulky yellow fish appearing only in the Floodlit Fish level of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! They are relatives of Bounty Basses, but unlike them, Gleamin' Breams do not have an item stored inside of them, nor can they be defeated. Gleamin' Breams are uniquely bioluminescent, so they can produce and emit light. If Enguarde stabs a Gleamin' Bream, the Gleamin' Bream gets startled and illuminates the area temporarily, giving the player the ability to see their surroundings and have Enguarde travel further into the level. A photograph of a Gleamin' Bream appears in Dixie Kong's Photo Album, under the Aquatic Attackers class.

Gleamin' Breams appear to be the inspiration for a species of bioluminescent fish in the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze level, Amiss Abyss. They are small and encountered in schools. Scattering a school of such fish with a corkscrew move makes them produce light for a short time and illuminate the dark area of the stage.
Although they can hurt Enguarde and the Kongs, Gleamin' Breams are not real enemies. Indeed, they unwillingly help Dixie and Kiddy Kong by lighting the dark waters of the Razor Ridge lakes. Their bioluminescence proves very useful in "Floodlit Fish", though in the Game Boy Advance remake of the game, it is possible to get through the level without hitting a Gleamin' Bream even once, due to the increased brightness in the port.

*"Floodlit Fish" might be a nickname referring to the Gleamin' Breams themselves.
*In a preview shown in the United Kingdom's Nintendo Magazine System, the Gleamin' Bream was referred to as "Puffer Fish" and appears to have a slightly unpolished sprite.
*Gleamin' Breams are one of the few characters from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! who did not appear in Donkey Kong Land III.
