Wild Sting is the name of a stingray that appears in the Game Boy video game, Donkey Kong Land. He is the game's very first boss, found at the end of Gangplank Galleon Ahoy!, in the level, Wild Sting Fling. Strangely, this underwater creature is able to float above land. Wild Sting resembles the Flotsam of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and could be the inspiration for them.

His name is likely inspired by the phrase Wild Thing. Wild Sting appears in Gangplank Galleon Ahoy! in the end boss level, Wild Sting Fling. He attacks by flying back and forth across the screen, occasionally swooping down at Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong. Wild Sting can be damaged from a Kong jumping onto it as it swoops. With each hit, Wild Sting moves around faster and less predictably. It only turns around after going off-screen. Wild Sting is defeated after taking seven hits.

During the battle against Wild Sting, the foe swoops down and attempts to attack the Kongs. At that time, the heroes should jump up and land on him. This damages the enemy, but does not yet fully knock him out. Wild Sting continues to swoop at the primates as the battle progresses, going back and forth. They must bounce on him again to deal more damage, although that still does not faze the villain. As they continue to jump on him, Wild String becomes even angrier, and swoops at them much faster than before, making it even harder to land on him. Finally though, when the Kongs bounce on him for the seventh time, he falls off the stage and the heroes win the battle. After that, three Banana Bunches fall from the sky, which the heroes should catch before the level ends.

The creature's name is probably a pun on the famous song Wild Thing.
