Donut Plains 1 is the first course of the Banana Cup. Like every other Retro Super Mario Kart track in Mario Kart DS, it only has 3 laps instead of 5. The bridge at the beginning has been widened and the first mud patch is larger. The mud patches now slow down racers. The pipes are green, rather than orange. Mission 2-3 ("Drive through all 5 numbered gates in order!") is played on this track with Donkey Kong being the playable character. Donut Plains 1 was never available in Wi-Fi mode. When the player crosses the finish line to begin the next lap, Lakitu is shown on the left side of the player, holding the lap count signs.
