Like the [[Yoshi's Island (series)|''Yoshi's Island'' games]], of which it is considered a superset,<ref name=History /> the ''Adventures of Yoshi'' games generally feature a colorful artstyle, but unlike the painted motif of the ''Yoshi's Island'' games, these feature a hand-crafted aesthetic. Unlike the ''Yoshi's Island'' games, however, the Yoshis in the games uniquely in this series are [[Baby Yoshi]]s and do not carry babies, as the series instead feature a health meter.
