A Golden Barrel is a special type of barrel found in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. As its name suggests, it is a shining, golden barrel. It appears five times in the game, found once in every world, excluding Gangplank Galleon and The Flying Krock, the game's first and last worlds.

During the events of the game, Diddy and his partner, Dixie can find a Golden Barrel floating in the back of Klubba's Kiosk. Klubba, however, will not allow them to enter the barrel unless they pay 15 Kremkoins. After paying the large Kremling, the Kongs can get into the barrel. Once entered, the Golden Barrel will teleport the two heroes into the Lost World, where they can find some new levels.  After paying, Klubba and the Kongs become friends and he lets them cross at that kiosk for free.

Golden Barrels do not appear in the game's semi-sequel, Donkey Kong Land 2. Instead, Diddy and Dixie simply walk across the screen to gain entrance to the Lost World.
