World of Trophies[edit]

The World of Trophies map

The World of Trophies (referred to as "This World" in Smash Bros. DOJO!! and on trophy descriptions) is the general setting of The Subspace Emissary mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The characters that appear in the world are described as being trophies that do nothing but fighting. After a character is defeated, they revert back to a trophy. The stages in the world are made up of a large stadium, a forest, a large grassy land, a jungle, mountains, a large lake, a deserted zoo, a swamp, a desert (which also includes a large castle), glacial mountain, some ruins and a large floating island with a secret base.

History[edit]

Many years ago, the Ancient Minister and all of the other R.O.B.s lived on the floating Isle of Ancients. However, Tabuu invaded the island and all the other robots were taken hostage on his orders. He converted the island into a Subspace Bomb Factory and told the R.O.B.s to get to work on making them, except for the Ancient Minister, who was told to go around and place Subspace Bombs on various parts of the World of Trophies, drawing them into Subspace.

Isle of Ancients[edit]

The Isle of Ancients before being destroyed

The Isle of Ancients is a place in the Subspace Emissary, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Although never appearing in the game itself, it plays a great role in the Emissary. It is home to several R.O.B.s, led by a single R.O.B. known as the Master Robot.[1]

When Tabuu first found the Isle of Ancients, he decided to use the robots to help him make Subspace Bombs. Taking the island over, he uses their advanced technology to build weapons for the Subspace Army, such as the aforementioned Subspace Bombs, the Dark Cannons, and the Subspace Gunship. The Master Robot, not wanting to lose so many R.O.B.s to Tabuu, agrees to join the Subspace Army and reluctantly beings production of the Subspace Bombs, becoming the Ancient Minister out of shame.[1]

After Ganondorf takes control of the robots on the island, he forces them to detonate several Subspace Bombs at once. He does this so as to transport a Subspace Gunship through to the World of Trophies. Later, after the defeat of Tabuu, a shining "X" appears in the sky where the Isle of Ancients was; it did not return to the world as a side effect of the detonation of the many Subspace Bombs at once.[1]

Battleship Halberd Bridge[edit]

<< Directory of levels >>

Battleship Halberd Bridge is a Subspace Emissary boss stage. It is played by Falco Lombardi, Fox McCloud, Lucario, Princess Peach, Princess Zelda (available only if Sheik transforms during the fight), Sheik, and Solid Snake.

After the events at the end of the previous stage, Battleship Halberd Exterior, Meta Knight, Lucario and Snake enter the Halberd's control room. Six Mr. Game & Watches are piloting the aircraft. Snake forcefully relieves them of their duties by launching them through the glass. They land a few feet away from where Fox, Zelda (in her Sheik disguise), and Peach stand, and they transform into Shadow Bugs, and then Duon. Snake and Lucario jump out of the window and land in front of Duon, while an Arwing flies over and Falco ejects from it. Duon roars, and four fighters who have to be chosen by the player battle.

When Duon is defeated, the Shadow Bugs eject from him, and Mr. Game & Watch's trophy appears, lying on its back. Peach walks over and touches the trophy, making Mr. Game & Watch come to life. After this, Meta Knight regains control of the Halberd, and steers it out of the dark red clouds covering it. After the events in the Subspace Bomb Factory, Meta Knight and the rest return to (what seems to be) The Canyon, where the Falcon Flyer also lands, in-front of the rest of the heroes.

Battleship Halberd Exterior is a stage in the Subspace Emissary mode. It is played by Sheik, Zelda and Peach.

The stage begins after Snake tells Peach and Zelda to stay in the room where their clones were fought, but Zelda transforms into Sheik and leads Peach out. They look out of a window, and both jump out to the platforms outside the Halberd, where the wind is very strong, capable of pushing the players back as they attempt to move forward. When the stage is finished, the Halberd and Fox's Arwing are battling, but Fox shoots towards the location of Peach. Sheik teleports onto Fox's Arwing, and breaks the front of it, forcing Fox to eject and land on the Halberd, along with Sheik. Fox and Sheik prepare to battle, but Peach stops them by offering Fox and Sheik tea.

Battleship Halberd Interior is a Subspace Emissary stage, after The Canyon and preceding Battleship Halberd Exterior. It is played by Lucario, Meta Knight, and Solid Snake. The first part of the stage is mostly linear and only features Snake as playable. After finding Meta Knight and Lucario, Snake and his new allies will encounter a maze-like area requiring the fighters to hit switches to progress. The next section features a darkened room featuring switches that temporarily brighten the room. The final section requires the fighters to get past a thick gate by defeating enemies. At the end of the stage, the three find Peach and Zelda, locked in cages as their trophy forms. The Shadow Bugs copy Peach's and Zelda's forms, and the fighters must battle False Peach and Zelda as the boss fight of the stage. Once the clones are defeated, the princesses are freed and Snake tells them to remain there while the rest of the team explore further.

Entrance to Subspace[edit]

<< Directory of levels >>

The Entrance to Subspace is a level in the Subspace Emissary that begins shortly after the Subspace Gunship emerges from Subspace, piloted by Ganondorf and Bowser. The ship's huge blaster shoots a purple laser out towards the mainland, sucking a portion of it into Subspace. Ganondorf then sees the Halberd coming across the horizon, and he and Bowser engage the ship in combat, exchanging laser fire until the Subspace Gunship's blaster shoots through the middle of the Halberd, destroying it. The Falcon Flyer, the Hocotate Ship, an Arwing, and Samus' Starship appear from the inside of the Halberd, intending to assault the Gunship. It begins firing at the heroes, who dodge every shot. Enraged, Ganondorf and Bowser order the Gunship's laser to be charged again, but before it can fire, Kirby appears out of nowhere, riding Dragoon, directing it through the Gunship, causing it to burst into flames and a large section falls into the ocean below. Bowser and Ganondorf both turn and walk into Subspace, and the heroes give pursuit.

After making it into Subspace, all characters taunt, and the player selects four characters to venture through Subspace, which is relatively short. In the meantime, Ganondorf shoots Bowser with a Dark Cannon and heads to what looks like a cliff. Master Hand appears, and Ganondorf bows, looks up a little, and notices strings of light controlling Master Hand. Ganondorf looks up farther and sees a blue figure, known as Tabuu, from whom the strings emanate, and proceeds to charge toward the being. Tabuu easily deflects the attack and sends Ganondorf back down to the cliff. Ganondorf lands on Master Hand during his descent, which severs the bonds Tabuu placed on it. Curling into a fist, Master Hand charges toward Tabuu but is deflected by a force field. He slams into the ground and does not move for the remainder of the game. The heroes encountered through the game then meet Tabuu, ready to engage him in combat, though before the heroes are able to do so, Tabuu extends his wings and unleashes a devastating Off Waves attack, which turns everyone into trophies simultaneously.

The Forest[edit]

The Forest is a stage, where Link walks alongside Navi to the Master Sword, and pulls it out of its base. As the two proceed, they walk past Yoshi, who is sleeping on a tree stump. The Halberd then flies above them, causing the sky to turn red. A group of Primids appears before them. Yoshi wakes up and stands besides Link, and after engaging and defeating the Primids, the two continue together.

The background of the stage features several trees that slowly thins out to show the open sky. Bundles of tree leaves and scattered logs are used as platforms, and some ruins are found near the stage's end. Once Tabuu is defeated, the stage can be returned to in order to face Toon Link. Beating him unlocks him as a playable character in Subspace Emissary and in all other game modes.

At the stage's start, a few Primids are battled before a floating platform is reached, with more enemies there. Nearby, a Puppit and a Bucculus are found near some fallen trees. Past the trees, another group of enemies appear, this time with bottomless pits scattered around them. Going though a door found afterwards leads to some more enemies (including Trowlons, Tickens, and Auroros) lurking on some tree stumps. A tall cliff is then jumped over using some nearby springs. After another fight, the player comes across some ruin walls with bomb blocks around them. Past the ruins, some Mites, Feyeshes, and Shellpods are fought along the path before entering a small stony room. A nearby switch creates some platforms, enabling access to the upper area. Continuing along the path eventually leads to the stage's exit.

Midair Stadium[edit]

Midair Stadium is the first stage, consisting of a platform similar to Final Destination. The background has an audience and clouds. During the Subspace Army's attack, it shares its background with the Halberd stage.

The stage begins with a battle between Mario and Kirby, watched by Peach and Zelda. After the brawl, the Subspace Army invades the stadium, and Mario and Kirby, along with the princesses, fight against the Primids, among other Subspace creatures. Eventually, the Ancient Minister appears, carrying a Subspace Bomb. Mario is knocked away (ending up in Skyworld) and Kirby battles fighting Petey Piranha, who holds the princesses captive. Kirby manages to rescue one of them, but Wario appears wielding a Dark Cannon. After failing to capture Kirby, Wario notices the other princess and fires his weapon at her instead, reducing her to a trophy. The stage ends with Kirby escaping with the princess he saved and the Subspace Bomb exploding, taking the stadium to Subspace. Midair Stadium cannot be played again until the game is cleared.

Outside the Ancient Ruins[edit]

Outside the Ancient Ruins is a stage that begins with many Pikmin attacking a gigantic R.O.B. The R.O.B. opens its eyes and spins around, killing the Pikmin. Standing a few feet away is a scared Captain Olimar and what's left of his army of Pikmin. His Red Pikmin then taps him and points behind them. The Blue Falcon jolts down towards behind Olimar, and as it gets closer, the rider turns it towards another angle (still close to Olimar, but not enough to hit him), and the rider ejects from the Blue Falcon, showing himself to be Captain Falcon, who Falcon Punches the R.O.B. and slides on the ground, killing what seemed to be all the Pikmin remaining except for Olimar's Red Pikmin. Olimar stands there, and both form a team. Both venture through the outside, battling enemies left and right. At the end of the stage, they both stand upon a cliff, glaring downards. They see a platform that carries many Primids, who are keeping Donkey Kong captive. They see an Arwing chase the platform, which Diddy Kong ejects from it, while the pilot, Falco Lombardi winks at Diddy. While landing on the platform, Diddy shoots the Primids with his popgun, which he then walks over to the trophy of Donkey Kong, whom Diddy revives. Captain Falcon grabs Olimar and jumps off the cliff onto the platform, whereas many more Primids appear, alongside other enemies. A multiman-brawl begins, and which is soon won by the heroes. At the end of the battle, they enter an island floating in the sky, which is the location of The Subspace Bomb Factory.

The Plain[edit]

The Plain is a level, played by Mario and Pit. The area begins near a Borboras, and is followed by platforms with more Borboras, along with variants of Primids. The player then reaches a flat area with Feyesh and Tickens. A stone wall must be broken, leading to a Borboras in front of a cave with a Ticken at the beginning. A wall blocks the entrance of the cave when entered and begins to move, and fiery Jyks and Poppants are encountered. A Borboras and a Boom Primid are found before a drop containing breakable stone blocks. More Primids are found as the player travels through the cave. A path in the ceiling leads to a Feyesh in front of a door, which contains stickers, a Heart Container, and an orange cube with a trophy in it. At the end of the main cave area, a Borboras and another door are found. Through the door, the player must ride a moving platform, while fighting Spaaks, Primids, Borboras, and Glunders. After defeating all of the enemies when the platform stops, the player can carry on to the end of the level, where Mario and Pit encounter the Ancient Minister.

The Sea of Clouds is a stage, where Kirby and the rescued princess, still riding Kirby's Warp Star, are forced to land on the Halberd after it crashes into them. They explore the ship until they see an Arwing get shot by the Halberd. Kirby and the princess are shot, also. They fall off the ship and explore the Sea of Clouds until they find a yellow door.

Subspace[edit]

Subspace is an entity found in the Subspace Emissary. In The Subspace Emissary, the Subspace Army uses Subspace Bombs to drag anyone and anywhere into Subspace. Each time a bomb detonates, a certain part of the World of Trophies is destroyed and sucked into a place known as Subspace. The first area ever destroyed was Midair Stadium. Throughout the game, the Subspace Army kept destroying many other parts of the world. The explosion of the bombs can be compared to Super Paper Mario's Void; similarly to The Void, Subspace explosions do not kill characters sucked into it and instead just warp them to a world of darkness.

All the characters in the game eventually enter Subspace, where they follow Bowser and Ganondorf after the destruction of the Subspace Gunship. However, once there, they are attacked and incapacitated by Tabuu. Luigi, King Dedede, and Ness (and later Kirby) are revived by badges created by Dedede and come to the rescue, journeying through Subspace and reviving all the trophies. When the heroes have regrouped, even recruiting the former villains into the team, Tabuu forces all the characters to go through The Great Maze, a fusion of the areas of the Smash Bros. world previously pulled into Subspace. After a long journey, the group reaches Tabuu's chamber. Sonic the Hedgehog joins them in the fight. They then defeat Tabuu, and all is well.

The Battlefield Fortress[edit]

The Battlefield Fortress is a Subspace Emissary stage.

As the outside of the castle is seen, many arrows and catapults are laying around in the sand. A Subspace Bomb is seen, with two R.O.B.s activating the bomb. The Ancient Minister had dropped the bomb, and while he floats away with another bomb, many Primids pop out from the sand, heading towards the castle. Atop the castle, Marth raises his sword, then ventures from the inside of the castle to the outside. Later, he stands in front of Subspace, but he glares to the right after hearing something. He prepares his sword, and Meta Knight flies downwards, engaging in a sword fight. This is soon interrupted by Primids, who jump on the back of the two, are cut in half by both swords. Marth and Meta Knight form a team, and defeat the army of Primids. They then chase the Minister, whom has another bomb. The two try to cut the bomb off of him, but fail. However, Ike jumps and slashes (using his move Aether), which cuts the connection of the bomb to the Minister who escapes. The three swordsmen then head to The Wilds.

The Canyon[edit]

The Canyon is a stage, where, after the events in The Glacial Peak, the Ice Climbers land on a mountain, alongside where Marth, Ike, Pokémon Trainer, and Lucas stand. Many Primids appear, being created by Shadow Bugs. Marth pulls out his sword, ready to attack, but seen in the background are Mario, Kirby, Pit, Link, and Yoshi, all taunting. The five jump off of the mountain, and the player picks four out of the five to battle in a multiman-brawl.

Later in the story (after the events on the Battleship Halberd Bridge and in The Subspace Bomb Factory), it is presumed that The Canyon is the landing place of the Halberd and the Falcon Flyer, and where the heroes set off to find Ganondorf and Bowser in Subspace.

The Glacial Peak[edit]

The Glacial Peak is stage 21 of the Subspace Emissary. Much of the level is ice and it is home to many Glices. The platforms that aren't ice are made of wood and have many Towtows and Spaaks.

At the beginning, the Great Fox and the Halberd are seen battling, shooting blasts one-by-one. At the bottom of a mountain nearby, Marth, Ike, Pokémon Trainer, and Lucas look at the battle, while Meta Knight climbs a nearby mountain in an attempt to reach his ship. He passes the Ice Climbers on the way and they join him. They venture the mountain and reach the top. When arriving at the top, Meta Knight notices Lucario, who then notices Meta Knight. Lucario jumps from where he sat and prepares to fight Meta Knight. The Ice Climbers look at both with a scared look, and the player picks which character to play as in the battle. After a fight, Lucario and Meta Knight shake hands, but this is soon interrupted by the Halberd, which has the Great Fox captive and knocks it into the mountain. The Ice Climbers fall to the bottom (the location of Marth, Ike, Pokémon Trainer, and Lucas), while Lucario and Meta Knight climb on the Great Fox, and then onto the Halberd.

The Great Maze is the final level of Subspace Emissary. After the whole World of Trophies is sent to Subspace, Tabuu combines all the levels of the game and mixes them all together to create one large maze which has parts from all the levels all the characters have been in. The heroes of the game are forced to go through this large maze. However, to beat this level, the player must not go to a goal. To beat it, the player must fight False Character versions of all the characters in the game (excluding Toon Link, Wolf O'Donnell, Sonic the Hedgehog and Jigglypuff). In addition, the player must also defeat all the bosses encountered in the game (excluding Master Hand and Crazy Hand).

There is no specific order that the player must beat all the enemies – the player can also choose to play as any character they wants. Also, there are various Check Points throughout the maze which the player can save, get back lost characters, adjust stickers, and change characters. The checkpoints are indicated by the Super Smash Bros. emblem mounted on a trophy stand. After the player has defeated all the "dark" characters and all the bosses again, the player opens a large purple door which leads to Tabuu and the Final Battle begins. After the player beats Tabuu, the Great Maze is spread apart and all the levels and locations of the Smash World are returned to their normal state. A map of the Great Maze can be accessed any time by pressing the Start button.

The Lake Shore[edit]

Boss False Peach/Zelda
<< Directory of levels >>

The Lake Shore is a stage, where Kirby leaves Peach (or Zelda) behind, only for her to get shot by Bowser. Then, the false Bowser decomposes into the ground and reaches the princess, rendering her "False". Link/Pit attacks the False Princess, as Yoshi/Mario follows him. From a distance, Pit/Yoshi and Mario/Link overhear them fighting; Mario/Link gets the wrong idea when he sees the Princess turned into a trophy, so the four fight. After one of the teams is turned into trophies, King Dedede drives by in a carrier (which he stole from Wario earlier) and snatches the defeated trophies. Just then, Kirby turns the defeated team back to normal. While King Dedede is distracted, Pit/Link pops one of the carrier's tires with an arrow. King Dedede flees the scene; the heroes track him down.

As the group chases King Dedede, who has the Zelda/Peach trophy, the Ness trophy, and the Luigi trophy, they arrive at a tunnel where they find King Dedede's carrier left behind. They venture through the cave, fighting enemies and dodging obstacles such as spikes, bottomless pits and crushing rock walls, eventually arriving at the back of the cave. From there, King Dedede's Castle can be seen sitting atop a hill, with the Halberd flying behind it.

Meanwhile, Ganondorf instructs Bowser to lead his Koopa Troop to King Dedede's castle where the stolen trophies are located.

Whichever princess was saved in the first stage of the game decides whether the player plays as Link and Yoshi in the first battle or Mario and Pit, though only one cutscene is unlocked per game, meaning if the player were to change them in the same file, they would only change the first battle and they would not unlock the alternate cutscene.

The Path to the Ruins[edit]

The Path to the Ruins is a stage that involves two characters; the Pokémon Trainer and Lucas. They are first seen on the edge of a cliff, as they see Charizard fly over their heads, toward The Ruins. The Pokémon Trainer checks the two pictures he had of Charizard and Ivysaur, and points at Charizard. Once going through the stage, they encounter Wario. Lucas, recalling Wario taking Ness at The Ruined Zoo, decides to fight him, alongside Pokémon Trainer. They defeat him, and high-five. Noticing Wario no longer has Ness in his possession, Lucas starts to feel sad, but before long the two enter The Ruins.

The Research Facility is a stage adjacent to the Subspace Bomb Factory. The Research Facility is where the R.O.B. Squad conducts scientific research on behalf of the Subspace Army, such as creating clone copies of Samus Aran's Power Suit. Besides researching new weapons, R.O.B.s also guard the facility from outside interference. The Research Facility serves as Ganondorf's base of operations during the Subspace Army's conquest of the world until the facility and the rest of the Isle of the Ancients is annihilated by the mass detonation of Subspace Bombs ordered by Ganondorf himself.

During the events of the Subspace Emissary, Samus Aran's Power Suit was somehow acquired by the Subspace Army and held in the Research Facility. Analysis of the Power Suit allowed the Subspace Army to create two sentient clone copies of the Power Suit to serve as additional weapons for the army's invasion. In order to retrieve her suit, Zero Suit Samus (the name Samus is known by without her Power Suit) secretly infiltrates the Research Facility. During her infiltration, Zero Suit Samus runs into Pikachu, who appears to have been captured by the Subspace Army as a source of electrical energy for the facility, torturing the Pokémon in the process. Samus frees Pikachu, which alerts the R.O.B. Squad to her presence. Ultimately, Samus and Pikachu manage to evade the R.O.B. guards, defeat the Power Suit clones, and reclaim the Power Suit. Eventually, Samus and Pikachu notice Ridley, who swoops down and grabs Samus. He then proceeds to scrape her against the wall. Pikachu, however, attacks Ridley with its Thunder attack, starting the boss fight. After defeating Ridley, Samus and Pikachu exit the Facility and enter the Subspace Bomb Factory, thus ending the level.

The Ruined Hall is a stage that takes place in a deep, empty underground area, and is only playable by the Pokémon Trainer and Lucas. The only objective in this stage is to defeat the boss, Galleom, who was first fought by Marth, Meta Knight and Ike above ground previously, right near the underground Ruined Hall. However, Galleom was not completely destroyed, but instead jumped; because of its immense weight, the ground crumbled to pieces, and Galleom fell through into the Hall as Lucas and the Trainer entered, forcing them to finish the boss themselves.

After Lucas and the Trainer Galleom defeat it, Galleom reveals that a Subspace Bomb is attached to it, and then grabs Lucas and the Pokémon Trainer in order to detonate the bomb and take them with it. Luckily, they are saved by Marth, Ike, and Meta Knight. After Galleom is destroyed, the Pokémon Trainer and Lucas join the swordsmen.

The Ruined Zoo is a stage where Lucas is strolling through the Ruined Zoo, depressed. As he looks above, he sees the Halberd, which releases Shadow Bugs that start turning into Primids. The Porky Statue appears, and Lucas runs away in fright, setting off the beginning of a stage, where the player must run from the statue. After reaching the end, another cutscene starts. Lucas trips on a twig, when the Porky Statue comes close to stepping on Lucas, but the statue is blown to the ground by PK Thunder, launched by Ness. Ness lands in-front of Lucas, but then jumps back up and attacks the statue with PK Flash, destroying it. It reveals Porky, initiating a boss battle. Lucas and Ness win, but they then notice Wario with a Dark Cannon. Wario starts shooting Ness with the gun, who dodges the shots. Wario turns and is about to shoot at Lucas, but Ness jumps and pushes Lucas out of the way, turning Ness into a trophy. Wario jumps down and laughs as he grabs the trophy. Lucas runs, looking back to the frightening image of Wario laughing maniacly as lightning strikes. He runs into Pokémon Trainer, who gestures to some more Primids. The Trainer releases Squirtle, who helps Lucas through the remainder of the stage. After making it through the stage, Pokémon Trainer walks away after giving a thumbs up to Lucas. Lucas, thinking about Ness, runs to Pokémon Trainer, forming a team.

The Ruins is a stage, where, after a battle with Wario, Pokémon Trainer and Lucas venture inside The Ruins, where they're pitted against many enemies, falling spikes, moving platforms, and huge spikes. Halfway through, they meet face-to-face with a trophy Ivysaur. Having Squirtle and Ivysaur, the team continues through The Ruins, avoiding multi-man brawls, and even bigger threats. After making it to the end, they are face-to-face with a live Charizard, who is soon defeated and captured by the Trainer. As they make there way through, they reach The Ruined Hall.

After the Emissary is beaten, the player can go back and enter a door not seen when exploring with the Trainer and Lucas, which will take the player to Lylat Cruise, where Wolf O'Donnell is fought. If he is defeated, he is unlocked and joins the player's party.

The Subspace Bomb Factory[edit]

The Subspace Bomb Factory is a stage, where, in the halls of the factory, Samus and Pikachu run from R.O.B.s after an alarm was set off. When Samus and Pikachu escape, they burst through a pair of doors, only to see the Ancient Minister, many R.O.B.s, and many Subspace Bombs. Pikachu charges up electricity, and Samus pulls up her blaster, both being ready to fight, but the Ancient Minister lowers his head. Pikachu stops charging and Samus puts her blaster down.

Meanwhile, Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Olimar venture through the factory, battling any opponents in their way. At the end, they spot a cracked wall, which Donkey Kong breaks with his fists. The four jump from the doors, now ready to fight, but the Minister still has his head down. A hologram of Ganondorf appears, and orders the R.O.B.s to use the bombs. The Minister tries to stop them, but Ganondorf orders them to attack the Minister. The R.O.B.s fire lasers at their leader, defeating him and burning his robes.

Samus, Pikachu, Olimar, DK, Diddy, and Captain Falcon try to detach the R.O.B.s from the bombs, but are unable to. Ganondorf commands the Subspace Army to attack the heroes, disappears, and a multiman-battle begins. After the heroes win, Samus, Pikachu, Olimar, DK, Diddy, and R.O.B. (the Ancient Minister) still try to detach the R.O.B.s from the bombs, while Captain Falcon presses a few buttons on his glove. He yells "Come on!" to the others, and the other heroes follow.

After escaping the main part of the factory, the heroes jump from the top of a huge hole, where Captain Falcon snaps his fingers, where then the Falcon Flyer appears. All of them land on it, and the Flyer takes off, but Meta Ridley appears and follows the Flyer, starting a boss battle. Meta Ridley must be defeated within a time limit to complete the level. After Meta Ridley is defeated, the Falcon Flyer escapes from the factory, while the factory and Meta Ridley are sucked into Subspace. The Falcon Flyer flies to what is supposedly The Canyon, alongside the Halberd, and lands among the other heroes.

The Wilds[edit]

The Wilds is a stage, where the area is an expansive desert that is very rocky and has very little sand. The stage will often progress without the player's help. That coupling with boxes and walls can be catastrophic if they aren't careful. Near cliffs, there are also boulders making progress more difficult. Many Roaders live in the flat areas of the land, able to remain hidden until the stage reveals them.

At the beginning, Marth, Meta Knight, and Ike are atop a cliff watching a tank-like creature drive through the desert. Ike quickly jumps off the cliff to investigate the metal creature. Marth and Meta Knight glance at each other briefly, then Meta Knight follows after Ike. After a little pause, Marth soon follows. After venturing through the desert, the swordsmen finally arrive at where the strange tank-like creature stopped. It transforms to reveal Galleom, whom Marth, Ike, and Meta Knight fight. After being defeated by the trio, Galleom launches itself off the cliff and lands further away on a large stone pathway near some ruins. The force of his jump causes the ground underneath him to break and he falls down into The Ruined Hall.

After this, Mario, Pit, Kirby, Link, and Yoshi, still tracking down the Ancient Minister, venture through the desert. Nearing the edge, they once again attempt an attack on the minister, only to narrowly miss as before. As the Minister is about leave, a R.O.B. jumps to grab a hold of the Subspace Bomb that the minister holds, but slips off. It falls to its death but manages to free the Subspace bomb from the minister's grasp. Another two R.O.B.s come over and activate the bomb. Mario and Pit attempt to detach the R.O.B.s from the bomb, but two more R.O.B.s shuttle Mario and Pit away. The bomb detonates and engulfs part of the Wilds in Subspace.
