The player starts the level on the bottom-left portion of the map. At the top is [[Donkey Kong]] who will occasionally throw [[barrel]]s onto the stage. Amidst [[wind]] blowing, Mario must avoid the rolling barrels while catching the falling barrels with [[handstand]]s, the latter of which he can pick up to throw at Donkey Kong. The barrels will drop [[Poison Mushroom]]s onto the stage upon breaking, even when hitting Donkey Kong. The level ends once Donkey Kong is hit three times.
