After he sets off the countdown to the detonation of a bomb, [[Mario]], his teammates and the [[Puni]]es catches up to him, and Lord Crump fights Mario and his team while inside his newest invention, the Magnus Von Grapple, which can stomp Mario or his partner, shoot his fists out, causing them to be able to attack Mario, and can stomp the ground, creating an earthquake. Upon defeat, Lord Crump drops the Crystal Star and he and the X-Nauts are driven out of the tree. This robot is later replaced by a modified version called [[Magnus Von Grapple 2.0]].
