The Spiky Question Block is a type of block first found in New Super Mario Bros. This block is similar to a regular ? Block, however it has spikes at the top. It rapidly spins around, having the player to time their jump, in order to avoid getting hurt. Hitting the block from below or Ground Pounding on the top will turn the block into a Used Block and the spikes will disappear. The block first appeared in World 4. It also appears in World 6-3.
A Spiked ? Block is a type of block that appears in New Super Mario Bros. It is similar to a regular ? Block; however, it has spikes at the top. It also spins around, requiring the player to mind their timing to avoid getting hurt. Hitting or ground-pounding the non-spiked side turns the block into an Empty Block.
