'''All-Terrain Vehicles''', abbreviated as '''ATVs''' (known as '''Quad Bikes''' or just '''Quads''' in the British English version), are vehicles first appearing in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'', alongside [[kart]]s and [[bike]]s.  

The basic model of the ATV for all characters is the [[Standard ATV]], which varies in color and paint design depending on the character, similar to the other Standard vehicles. The game considers all the ATV bodies "karts," as CPU players can be found using ATVs when the CPU vehicle body options are set to "Karts Only." As with karts, ATVs can perform the [[Mini-Turbo#Firehopping, sliding and firesliding|fire-hopping and demon-sliding]] techniques in ''Mario Kart 8''.

 

The [[Bone Rattler]] becomes available through purchase of the [[Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8|''Animal Crossing'' × ''Mario Kart 8'']] DLC pack.

 

Two new ATV vehicles, [[Splat Buggy]] and [[Inkstriker]], appear in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' for the [[Nintendo Switch]]. Both vehicles are based on ''{{wp|Splatoon}}'' and appear alongside the new [[Inkling]]s introduced in this game.
