Hyakka: Nintendo Kōshiki Guidebook'', better known as ''[[Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros.]]'', another name for these objects has been found on page 92: 「ケロンパボール」 ''Keronpa Bōru'', or '''Flame Chomp Ball'''. Since the book covers ''Super Mario 64'' and not ''Super Mario 64 DS'', this seems to be a deliberate attempt at renaming and mixing both appearances of the original Kuromame and the odd Keronpa (or what would be translated as Flame Chomp).
