My Ban
I was never banned for 90 days. I wasn't block evading. S-Y lied. I would use a sentence with two curse words in it, one of them being used 3 times, but I would get blocked in the wiki. I was on from the applet here, as it's the only one that I know the URL of that I'm not still banned on, so I wasn't evading. Now would you please unblock me before I take drastic measures. I'm not like I used to be, so you can trust me. Thank you.-KP Blue 20:17, 11 July 2008 (EDT)
And just so you know, my and Snack's story about what happened(which is what really happened, just ask Snack, he banned me in the first place, my block was over on the other applets because somehow, they thought that I got blocked on those applets the same day I got blocked here.) is that I was acting crazy, so Snack banned me for a reasonable 10 days, which expired YESTERDAY. Super-Yoshi's story is that he doesn't like me, so he had ChaosNinji block me for a ludicrously long 90 days. Both stories are completely differen't except for me getting blocked. Super-Yoshi's reason was just so I would get blocked for another 80 days, just because he doesn't like me. Ask Snack which one is right, and he'll say that the one that I put for mine and his is the true one. Don't trust someone just because they're trustworthy and not trust someone just because they're not trustworthy. Descriptions aren't always true, and neither is S-Y. I'm not saying that he's always a liar, I'm just saying that he's not always truthful. Now if you could just unblock me, and block S-Y for 80 days, that'll solve the problem. Don't worry, I learned my lesson. Only be mean to the bots, such as saying that GameServ is programmed to be bipolar.-KP Blue 20:50, 11 July 2008 (EDT)
...S-Y isn't being blocked just because he doesn't like you. And I don't think you're telling both sides of the story here. 1337Yoshi
When will you get it? You evaded ban, continuesly, and you are banned. You know why noone is banning me, and why noone hates me? Because I am trustful, and I actually consider these people friends, and not people to assisanate or beg for forgiveness. Just stop alrite, if you wanna get blocked forever, flame someone, or flame me I really don't care. If you wanna stay in chat, then just wait until your 90 days are over, and act normal alrite? uper-Yoshi
And don't bother writing War and Peace-length arguments for why you're right and the rest of us are wrong; they don't help. 1337Yoshi

List of channel operators
I would like to see a list of official back-up ops on this page. Can we do this, as it would be a large help so the newbies can know who to look towards for help. Jdrowlands (talk) 03:36, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Users channel
I say we should have some kind of standards (I say "some kind" because I have no idea) for including these things, the list is extremely long but most of these kind of channel are created and die on a whim. --Blitzwing 16:23, 4 January 2009 (EST)
- Sry but I think otherwise. I don't see anything wrong with it, back in the day we we're free to go anywhere we wanted too, and having alot of user chats isn't hurting anyone. uper-Yoshi
- Any comment from someone who doesn't own one of these user channels, and thus isn't biased? --Blitzwing 06:15, 24 January 2009 (EST)
- Per Blitzwing. Obviously, you can't stop people from creating usef channels, or from visiting them, but only the active ones should be mentioned on Chat. Also, channels with restricted access shouldn't be listed, they can't be accessed without an invitation anyway, and that would come with the channel's name. - 2257(Talk) 10:19, 24 January 2009 (EST)
- I may have a user channel, but you're right. There are too many user channels on the list that aren't even used. I just went through them on the chat and found that these aren't being used anymore (because of lack of activity): #dpchat, #fmchat, #ssgchat, #totochat, #deathnote, #dlmgir, #X1chat and #goldenchat. #palkgiuschat should be replaced with #packychat (even though the former is still registered), but every other channel has been in use over the past month (30 days). If user channels should be pruned, I think this is where we need to start. Neurario 07:21, 25 January 2009 (EST)
- Any comment from someone who doesn't own one of these user channels, and thus isn't biased? --Blitzwing 06:15, 24 January 2009 (EST)

New Rules
"That part of about not using a curse word more than 4 times a minute? The one that Stooby folded on? Yeah, that's back and is going to stay."
This is what Ghost Jam came and said on the forum, this is one of the rules that are majorly flawed among the current chatroom rules. I complained about a large amount of these rules previously in a forum thread, and one of the rules I complained about was the swearing one, which just said "too much" instead of "4 times a minute".
Now, what is "4 times a minute"? Does that mean you get 4 swears a minute? It doesn't really make any sense. I think that instead of that, it should stay at "deemed by operator", or even better, remove the stupid rule. "Crap" is considered a swear word(which seems absolutely ridiculous to me), so you can't say "Crap" more than 4 times a minute. That means Strong Bad would be a valid offender. ...Seriously, guys. Since I made my topic pointing out problems with the rules, Ghost Jam has locked the topic, removed the post that ticked him off the most, double posted, and than ChaosNinji responded to him. Aaaaaand down here at the bottom of the rules page, there's Ghost Jam's favorite line, "the chatroom is a privilege, not a right". The line that says he can make the chat as strict as he wants, because he never even uses it, so it doesn't matter to him how strict the rules are.
Basically what these new rules are saying is "LEAVE THE F***ING MARIOWIKI, WE DON'T WANT YOU", it doesn't matter if you like being here(that's another thing Ghost Jam said, he said that he does not have fun here and doesn't think anyone should), you should still leave. Also, I'd like to add that Ghost Jam(sysop who never uses chat) changed a rule put by Stooben Rooben('crat who often uses chat). {{User:Uniju :D/sig}} 16:35, 9 January 2009 (EST)
- I'll leave the actual arguing to the chat ops, but I'd like to point out that I didn't change anything. Stooben changed a rule under pressure from the chat gestapo, the other mods disagreed with the change and I was the only one available at the time to revert. Ghost Jam, AWAY! -- Chris 18:05, 9 January 2009 (EST)
- I'd like to point out that I changed that bit before I even got onto chat. Everyone bit my head off before I got the chance to tell them I changed it, so yeah, it looks as if I folded under pressure. I could care less what anyone else really has to say about the rules, especially since the Ops - enforcers of the rules - were even complaining. I was contemplating on whether to change it back or not, (hence why I was editing so late), but by the time I had made up my mind, the Wiki was giving me database errors. How typical. — Stooben Rooben 18:17, 9 January 2009 (EST)
- You didn't even respond to my argument. {{User:Uniju :D/sig}} 19:40, 9 January 2009 (EST)

- Are you saying that's the only thing you got out of my whole rant? ...OK, maybe it is. But the point is that "crap" isn't a swear word, the 4 times a minute rule is incredibly silly, and just because your a 'crat it doesn't give you the right to say no one has the right to complain. {{User:Uniju :D/sig}} 20:03, 9 January 2009 (EST)
- Forgive me, but I don't think anyone said you couldn't complain. -- Chris 20:20, 9 January 2009 (EST)
- I agree that the "4 times a minute" thing is silly and lead to a buttload of possible stupid abuse ("You can't ban me!! The minute expired!"). And who said "Crap" was a swear? Certainly neither me or Stooben... Or anyone with half-a-working neuron. --Blitzwing 20:26, 9 January 2009 (EST)
- Blitz: "Crap" is listed as one of the swear words people are allowed to say on the rules page, and thus is one of the swear words you get kicked for saying more than 4 times a minute.
Ghost Jam: On the forum, Stooben said things like that complaining won't help(if complaining doesn't help, what does? hacking into his account?) and that the ops where all incompetent because it wasn't their job to complain about the rules. {{User:Uniju :D/sig}} 20:33, 9 January 2009 (EST)- "Complaining doesn't help" =/= "You can't complain." -- Chris 20:38, 9 January 2009 (EST)

Rules in the Chat Topic?
I posted this before, but it seems to have gone missing... I had a thought that since we get a few non-site users who don't know our rules, wouldn't it be practical to add the link to Help:Chat to our chatroom topic? Revising it to something like "Welcome to the Super Mario Wiki Chatroom! Enjoy your stay. :: New to the chat? Please read our rules: http://www.mariowiki.com/Help:Chat" or something similar would be very useful. Neu (edits|talk|irc) 00:19, 16 May 2009 (EDT) Now I think I know why it went missing: nobody actually cares, they all just want to whine about temporary bans instead of something constructive. Neu (edits|talk|irc) 00:50, 2 June 2009 (EDT)
- I second this. It is annoying to hand type the link into the chatroom. Oh, and this is my first edit... in a very long time... gasp. —CarbonFiberMan 00:30, 16 May 2009 (EDT)
Unfair Ban
Today, I was unfairly banned by Smarty Guy. He banned me just because I remained as a guest, as we all know, there is no written rule about remaining as a guest, therefore I'm in my full right to remain as a guest. I told this to Smarty Guy, but he ignored me and banned me. I think I should be unbanned and Smarty Guy should be demoted ™ Thats all
No impersonating. Changing your nickname is only acceptable as long as it is linked to your username in some manner. Nick abusing will result in a kick and/or ban. Master Crash IMO, if you only have it for alittle while, it's not bad, but if you keep using it, it shouldn't be allowed.
- ...Actually, Tucky is right. All users have the right to stay as guests. Also, is WikiGuest??? a user? Seriously, man. Impersonating is when you change your name to the name of another username that is not yours. Now, the name WikiGuest??? was made for guests who aren't users and came to chat in the wiki chatroom. But he also has the right to remain as a guest. Ah, and the 'No impersonating' rule if based in this makes no sense. I was even once kicked for impersonating Santa (who's not even a user). So there's no written rule about this, for example "Don't remain as a guest. Identify yourself or you may receive a kick or a ban". I imagine how unfair for you would it be if they mistaken you, MS, with somewone else chatting in your computer if that rule existed. They would ban you for the same reason. Thank you for you attention, even through I made this like, a half a year after Tucayo was unbanned. MS is even inactive now. So... Oh, I forgot the sig! --Mario Fan 123 - Mario's craazy fan! 08:25, 10 January 2011 (EST)
Cuppa Joe
Whenever I enter chat, there's a grey cup of coffe with two arrows around it. What does it mean? Magik
Nick Abuse
We need to specify that rule some more, because Princess Grape's forum nick is PG23, and says she can use any nick that has 23 in it. And from what I've heard, a few other users have done something like this. The problem is, that the number could refer to a number of other users. -Toadbert101
The most stupid rule
Today, i was stupidly banned from the chat for using TuCaYo as nick, which hasnt got anything bad in it, because that is my nick and i had to write my password to log in --Tucayo(talk) The 'Shroom 15:34, 30 July 2009 (EDT)
Excess ban
Today, I got banned (which wasn't unjustified) for one hour, I ban evaded and the ban was increased to a day and then a week somehow, even though it says in our rules "No ban-evading. Evading a ban will result in a doubled ban". SmartyGuy11
Big Problem
Until early July, Chat was great. The wildest it would get would be people quoting BJAODN or singing Weird Al. Now, people just swear randomly, flame, and ops don't even follow the rules. Last night, Jorge, Turboo, and Henrydamoose were saying all sorts of crap about me, and Clear Discoherency did it today. All of us should've been kicked at least twelve times, and the only time anyone was kicked was when I flooded in protest. An anonymous source told me Porple kicked a user for "being a noob". I'm not alone in my opinion, and many users have left the wiki altogether because of it. I'm gonna try to wait it out, though. Enough is enough. Something needs to be done.
Correction: Jdrowlands is very strict. The stuff happened after he pinged.
- Yes, we need better operators. We should only give ops to the Administrators, they know how to lead and set examples. These operators' jobs (not all, but most) are terrible, and should not be operators. · SMB (Talk) · 20:55, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
Ragging
This has happened a lot, and I'm fed up with it. When someone says something dumb, and people say gtfo, stfu, etc., it's not just pointing out someone did something dumb. IT'S A BIG BUNCH OF BS! There needs to be a rule against it.
Jorge is Godmodding
How long are bans supposed to be? I was supposedly given an infinite one! Jorge has been godmodding! He deserved 50 kicks, and I say F--- YOU, JORGE!!!!!!!!! and deserve a ban, right? BUT NOT PERMANENT! DE-OP HIM! NOW!
Ralphfan>>COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- He probably is god-modding, but only the ops can deop him. Which would probably never happen to Userpedia's Rising Star. · SMB (Talk) · 20:52, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
- Funny. We didn't really ban you for infinity but that's funny. Not only are you guillible but you decide to go around crying about it instead of admitting your actions were wrong. You were kicked two times earlier today, then flamed me and got banned for one hour. So calm down, grow up and take responsibility. Paper Jorge Also as a note, life isn't fair and it never will be. You can't have the world be your way.
Not to mention that there is no longer a rule against godmodding if im correct. And also, feel special, I just logged on for the first time in forever to post this message. Mr,Vruet the Black Mage 20:58, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
- Well, we need better rules and better operators. These operators love to abuse power at all costs, at least that is what I feel. I don't think Ralphfan is lying or exaggerating, he is probably right. Nothing against Jorge specifically, but about our ops in general, most of our operators break rules or treat people like garbage. · SMB (Talk) · 21:01, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
- It's basically the same with umpires. You can set any strike zone you want, but it has to be fair. Uni is very lenient, but he's fair. Jdrow is very strict, but extremely fair.

Ralphfan>>Chat has gone to the dogs.
It was YOU who broke any rules, so stop blaming it on the ops. Mr,Vruet the Black Mage 21:05, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
- Ops are breaking their rules, too. Nobody changes that, though.
- Even Porple breaks his own rules (from what I've hear) · SMB (Talk) · 21:20, 26 August 2009 (EDT) By the way, I meant to put heard at the end of that sentence, but I skipped my D-key </lame jokes>
- Then let's freaking fix it! Who's with me?
- Porple is allowed to break his own rules, he made the wiki, he makes the rules, he breaks them, you can't do anything about it, and no, you shouldn't fix anything unless it is broke, which chat ain't. Mr,Vruet the Black Mage 21:24, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
- Vruet, you're being a one-sided idiot. Chat isn't broken, it's biased. It wasn't like this 50 days ago. You're one of the problems.
- Accually, no Im not, im rarely on chat, so how can I be a problem? Not to mention I don't break any rules, unless slight flaming = kick, which it hasn't for the entire time I was on the wiki. Get your facts straight. Mr,Vruet the Black Mage 21:45, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
#mwchat
I guess this is a battle I'm not gonna win, so I've created a new chatroom: #mwchat . No tolerance for disobedience. The founders are SMB, Tucayo, and I. I technically am listed as the founder, though.
Never mind. I just wanna get back on #mariowiki but I can't!
Ban problem
It appears I was banned on accident for 22 days. It's been an hour, the ban should be removed. Thank you. Actually, it turned out to not by my ban.
Unlink
I dont say we delete, or restart #mariowiki, i say we unlink it to the wiki and make it not official. Anyway, active users rarely get there, it gives kinda a bad image of us to newbies, #mwikitalk would be better --Tucayo(talk) The 'Shroom 22:47, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
If you get rid of #mariowiki and replace it with #mwikitalk, than all the same people(Stooben Rooben, etc) would become operators, and all the same people would go there, and than it would just turn out like the original. It's pointless. If you don't like the decisions of the majority of the chat's userbase, than I suggest you go to a different chatroom. The operators of the chatroom are fine with the rules, and so is the majority of the active users there. Since the "active users" you mentioned don't go there anyway, why bother? Uniju :D 19:55, 27 August 2009 (EDT)
That pesky ban...
I was banned for an hour. It's been 19 hours. I need a #mariowiki op to type /cs unban #mariowiki ralphfan . That is all. Thanks. If I was banned for a day, that's OK. I deserved it and respect your decision. We may need to clear the entire ban list; it might be my IP. I still can't get on, St00b has tried six things.
Ralphfan>>I deserved the ban, but it should be over now.
If my range is banned, please lift the ban.

STUPID SUCKY OPS
The ops are giving me crap. Get a load of this: I didn't flame anyone, didn't swear or anything. All I did was read baseball scores and be kinda annoying. NO RULES AGAINST THAT! I asked why Kazooiebottle gave him/herself a kick by saying "Kick?". Then Jorge and Henry wanted me to be kicked. Gorden kicked me. When I returned I said "WHAT THE F---". Not flaming. Kazooiebottle then kicked me. Upon my return, Jorge kicked me. Then, he said:
[20:10] <Jamjars> ok i dont care if i get deopped it was worth it
More proof:
[20:09] You've been kicked out of #mariowiki by ChanServ ([Gorden_Freechmen] User kick requested)
[20:09] You've been kicked out of #mariowiki by Kazooiebottle ()
[20:10] You've been kicked out of #mariowiki by Jamjars (do hw)
De-op him and Gorden and Kazooiebottle. They're crappy ops. WE NEED BETTER OPS. LIKE TUCKY AND WAYO.
Ralphfan>>If you don't like it, kvetch on my talk page.
YOU were FLOODING the CHAT with BASEBALL SCORES. FLooding is a rule, y'know. :| McCloudTalk to meh!
Wrong! Flooding is typing blah. Then posting the same thing again and again and again. Or typing one word and posting it repetitively. I wanted to color-code it, so I needed multiple posts.
Then you were SPAMMING the chat with baseball scores. SPAM = Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. One, it was being relatively stupid. Two, it was pointless to begin with. Three, It was sure as hell annoying seeing baseball scores in the middle of a conversation. And Four, To bring that all together it is a stupid pointless annoying message. What do you know? IT'S SPAM. McCloudTalk to meh!
Well then, why wasn't I kicked right away? Why was I kicked more then once?
Ralphfan>>Uh huh, I thought so.
Because Gordon was talking to me in query and the others were gone. They kicked you more than once so they could get you from the previous hour of baseball score spamming. McCloudTalk to meh!
BS.
I know I wasn't there, and that this is a little late, but I'd like to point one thing out: You do not kick someone multiple times for one offense. If he continued to flood the room with sports scores, and none of the Ops kicked him for it while it was going on, then that's their (myself included, since I wasn't there) fault. Kicking him once after the fact would have been fine. But three, based on just that? No. — Stooben Rooben 21:21, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
Did I also mention that the ops kicked themselves after they kicked you, Ralph? So Stooben, to wrap this up, should we conclude that the whole mis-half started partially by Ralph and partially by Jorge, Gordon, and Turboo. Also mentioning the opinion that it should END like this. If I were you, I would take away only their op priviledges for 1 day. And have Ralph warned for spamming with baseball scores. Your call. McCloudTalk to meh!
I now post scores on #ralphchat.
Ban Problems
Many people have been banned without a time set. Therefore, the ban lasts until all users leave the channel. It happened to me, and needs to be fixed. I believe it also happened to Mario7727. I know Jdrow knows how to fix it, but others need to fix it as well.

Crappy Rules
Apparently, f--- you isn't a flame, but f--- you, asshole is. What the hell kinda crappy rule is that?
Ralphfan>>That's sh*te (in Scottish)!

Poor Ops
Once again, ops are biased. They all seem to hate me. If they hate me, I don't care. If they favor certain users and kick me for doing the same thing as another user without kicking the other user, that's a problem. It's getting out of hand. No excuse for this sort of stuff. Specifically, S-Y, ML, and groden are the poor users. For one, multiple users called me "ralphfag." I then proceeded to call multiple users fa**ots. We all deserved kicks. (By all, I mean all who partook in the flaming and name-calling.) I was the only one kicked. Users flame me often to no avail. None of them are kicked. Ops are extremely biased. This needs to stop. NOW.
Ralphfan>>We need more St00bs.

- Though I agree with Dman where he says ralph was getting on their nerves and ralphfan should not have done that - I still think that was not a cause for them to be biased towards other users as ralph puts it. If he wanted ralphfan to stop, he could of asked ralphfan to stop and even used that coarse language that I've noticed he like a lot. ( | )

Inappropriate Nicks
Recently, certain users *cough*Toadbert*cough* have been adding inappropriate stuff to their nicks, such as Toadbert|Ass or ML|F*ck. It needs to stop!
Ralphfan>>Stop the porn!
I was being a whiny b*tch.
- No Ralph, this is overkill.
- “While cursing is allowed, we still do not allow derogatory terms in the chatroom; nor do we allow sexually explicit content. Cursing is a completely different thing from the two aforementioned subjects.”

- You see, if they have that content in their nick, it's okay because of the swearing policy. · SMB (Talk) · 22:34, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
It's not sexually explicit?
Ralphfan>>Ok...
It's immature, but it's not my choice what you guys do. I shouldn't b*tch about something and be a jack*ss just because I don't like something.
Shouldn't we just ban profanity from nicks and settle this once and for all?
Ralphfan>>BTW, I created #porn and put Uniju as the founder; take your crap there!
OK, the #porn thing was dumb. I deleted it.
- I agree.--FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!
- Actually, Ralphfan. It is not sexually explicit because it is not used in that sense. Ass can easily not be considered as a sexual reference (such as a donkey). F*ck is not a sexual reference in this sense because Master Lucario did not use it in terms of sex. · SMB (Talk) · 22:42, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
It's just common sense! Chat is supposed to be a safe place! What if a seven-year old goes in, huh? What happens then?
Ralphfan>>COMMON SENSE!
OK, that was stupid.
- Well, #mariowiki is not guarenteed to be a children-safe chat, just as our wiki is not guarenteed to be a children-safe wiki. If you want, create a new censored chat, or suggest one to Porple. · SMB (Talk) · 22:57, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- Actually, no. You can't change the rules via proposal, only the operators can decide what the rules are. You can go to a chatroom operator to present your case on the Chatroom Operator's board on the forum, but that's about all you can do. · SMB (Talk) · 23:01, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
Where should I make the proposal? Also, I created #mwchat and hell, crap, damn, and ass are the only permitted swears, but THEY CAN'T BE IN NICKS!
Ralphfan>>Maturity. Pass it on. A message from the Foundation For a Better Chat.
Although the foundation line was funny, I dropped #mwchat.
- And where in the rules does it say that? Seriously, you need to use common sense :| There is no rule about that, and for someone who says "vagina boob", calls us "dipsh**'s", "mother****ers" etc etc. I would just drop this conversation right now. uper-Yoshi
Fine. You win. Put all your sh*tty porn wherever the f*ck you go. I don't give a sh*t.

I want to apologize once again. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean you guys shouldn't be allowed to use it. I'm not gonna use this place anymore unless someone was breaking the rules in a major way. I hope you guys can forgive me, but it's OK if you can't.
Ralphfan>>Sorry for being an asshole.
Not to sound offensive, but this is exactly why I didn't believe your apology the other night. If you find #mariowiki to be that bad, go to a different channel, or make your own. #mariowiki is meant to be a fairly relaxed channel, which is why we lightened up on the rules as much as we have. But it's not like it's completely rule-free. (Hell, there are hundreds of thousands of sites and chatrooms on the internet that make #mariowiki seem like The Super-Happy Preschool Hour.) You can bring cases like this up with the Operators of #mariowiki, but it is ultimately up to them if anything will change. — Stooben Rooben 00:55, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
Well, although it's annoying, I see your points. Once again, I didn't look at the full picture of things. I'm not gonna b*tch about stuff here anymore unless someone is banned for an unfair reason, etc.
Ralphfan>>You're right, there are lots of worse places.
Loophole
I found a loophole in a rule that I don't think anyone's exploited yet, but it seems likely that someone will eventually tries to pull this stunt. What if someone says something against the rules on notice to everyone in #mariowiki? Essentially, everyone can see it, so they should be kicked for it. However, there's no way to tell if they noticed everyone. What should be done?
Ralphfan>>This seems like an unblockable loophole.

Flaming. It's just too much. F*ggot is OK. F*ck you is OK. Having SUPAHB*ITCH for a nick is OK. I understand allowing swearing, but the flaming is just too much. The anti-flame rule needs to be strongly enforced.

Seriously?
I wanted to enter the chat, with my username, and it said erronous nickname. I'm not banned, and even if somebody impersonating me on the chat were banned, I would of been given a different message. I think that some impersonator registered as me and now I can't enter. Seriously though, the page doesn't say what is this supposed to mean or what am I supposed to do? Help please.--LuigiNo.1 13:04, 30 December 2011 (EST)
- You're not banned and no one was impersonating as you. I also checked NickServ and it says that your nick is not registered, so no one has stolen it. What probably happened was that you were having connection problems--you disconnected from chat, but not from the entire network, so when you tried to come back on it wouldn't let you use that nick because it was still hanging out for a bit. This sort of problem happens often, and you're essentially stopping yourself from getting in. This specific problem can be solved with just some simple patience. Alternatively, you can register your nick (which would also prevent anyone else from taking it) which would allow you to use the Ghost command. - Hypnotoad (T|C) 01:21, 1 January 2012 (EST)

I don't know how to make a own chat. You can explain it me on my talk page. Thanks. MarioMan51
- I'll explain it here instead so other people can see the answers since this is a very common question. It's a pretty simple command: "/msg chanserv register #channelname". Just make "#channelname" be whatever you want it to be called. Actually managing a chatroom is far more complex, and you can find out more answers by typing in the command: "/msg chanserv help" and follow instructions from there. - Hypnotoad (T|C) 14:32, 8 March 2012 (EST)

'Bout mah ban:
Hi, this is Tanookimario226 speaking. It has been exactly 1 year and 9 days now since the beginning of my ban from #mwchat. I thought it would be good to simply wait my ban out for a while, and I believe I have suffered my punishment long enough, and I would like to request an unban from the chatroom. I was banned from there for talking about my favorite subject, which doesn't break the rules whatsoever. Nobody can help that they like talking about certain things, and neither can I. I can't help it that I am a food-lover! I can't help it that I love to cook and eat! But I wasn't even discussing that topic, unless someone else brought up food. Whenever we were roleplaying, (people roleplayed a lot whenever I was on there for some reason), it would mostly be fighting, and I would use food as my attacks. (Whacking someone with a turkey leg, whipping someone with a raw bacon strip, tying someone up with rope-sausage, pouring scalding hot soup on someone, etc, etc.) But I guess some of those users there just don't like it when someone fights with a unique style or something, because they keep asking and/or commenting about it, and then begging me to stop. Other times, the roleplay would be regarding another random scenario, and I would sometimes use food there too. For example, "/me celebrates his victory with 100,000 foot-long meatball subs", or "/me chugs a big mug of cheese sauce". But those instances didn't happen as often, and were mostly in response to what other users may have directed at me. But anyways, people got annoyed with my unique role-playing style, and though I usually keep the chat rules in mind when I'm on there, I didn't see anything regarding talking about your favorite non-inappropriate topic. And that's pretty much why I ignored everyone's requests: Because I thought I could talk about whatever I felt like, (as long as it wasn't inappropriate), and also, I thought that users were quite capable of ignoring things that bothered them, and mature enough to do so. Like I said, I pretty much only talked about food during roleplay, while I only talked about it during normal conversation if someone else brought it up. Another thing I thought was unfair was that my offenses weren't particularly disruptive. As mentioned twice already, my cooking and eating talk was mainly used in roleplay, so I never really spammed or disrupted conversation taking place there, (unless someone else started roleplaying in the middle of the conversation). And sure, I did get kicked once for "godmodding" in one of our early role-play sessions, but it was just once, and I did get warned after that too, but then I stopped for real, and such roleplay is not the reason I got banned, (which is odd, because I saw "Inappropriate roleplay" written in my ban reason on the day I received the ban). Despite that one major offense, even that wasn't totally disruptive, as pretty much everyone else there at the time was roleplaying too. And on another note, I never got out of control. I always kept things civil, and I never trolled anyone, making my food-based RP'ing the only offenses that got me banned from here. So long story short, I got asked to stop, and I continued, because of my reasons mentioned above, then I got kicked, and shortly after I rejoined, the ban was placed on me, and it's been on me since.
Overall, I personally think that users should not get harshly kicked or banned for talking about their favorite non-inappropriate topic, and that chatroom bans should not be used to deal with users who are found annoying. Of course, it's just my opinion, and I certainly don't expect the rules to be changed because of it. But back to the point. I do hope someone will find some remorse and unban me from #mwchat, (or at least reduce the ban length), because I really miss going there, and seeing the friends I'd made there, who made the chat worth coming back to. If I do get unbanned, I will try to tone down my food talk a bit, and will not godmod again. If I don't, then tough beans. At least I tried. For everyone who knows me from the Chat, I miss you all, and I'm sorry for everything! Sincerely, 99.5.233.244 20:45, 11 November 2013 (EST)

- (Posting this despite the edit conflict) While talking about food and godmodding does not break the rules (and were also not any of the reasons for your kicks and ban), it was your continuous talk about food in such a manner that made people very uncomfortable that earned your punishment. The roleplaying was quite apparently fetishistic with vore, gore, and bodily fluids, which was disturbing to many users and staff, all of whom asked you to stop, and you very vocally refused to. People did try to be mature and ignore it, but you were just so persistent with it that it was impossible to ignore--it was the only thing you would ever talk about and it would be constant. In addition to that, since you personally felt that you could do whatever you wanted to do even though multiple ops asked and warned you to stop, you, refusing to listen, focused aggression on individuals you felt were being unfair towards you and began to purposely target your 'unique role playing style' on them, and spread problems throughout all parts of the community and even into other sites. Such behavior was deemed completely unacceptable and you were banned permanently. That ban will remain permanent, especially seeing as your memory of the event is skewed and believe you are the innocent victim. - Hypnotoad (T|C) 22:30, 11 November 2013 (EST)

There wasn't any gore or vore at all. It was just one post: "/me throws a watermelon at (forgot the user's hostname)'s head, and forces (forgot the user's hostname) to lick up the blood." Yes, that is bodily fluids, but the rest of my godmodding wasn't as gory. It all involved turning people into food and eating them, with much less graphicness in the detail department. Also, you guys kicked me for godmodding, but now you're saying it doesn't break the rules? This is confusing me!
"People did try to be mature and ignore it, but you were just so persistent with it that it was impossible to ignore--it was the only thing you would ever talk about and it would be constant."
Mmm-k, I see your point. Notice I said I would try to tone it down a bit if you let me back in? I'm pretty sure I've changed since I last spoke to you, Hypnotoad. And no, food was not all I'd ever talk about, and I don't only talk about it now. While on the chat, I was quite capable of taking part in conversations that didn't involve food in any way, shape, or form. In fact, my roleplay wasn't all food-based, and I only really started doing it a few days after discovering the chat.
"...since you personally felt that you could do whatever you wanted to do even though multiple ops asked and warned you to stop, you, refusing to listen, focused aggression on individuals you felt were being unfair towards you and began to purposely target your 'unique role playing style' on them..."
That is true, and I likely would have listened if I wasn't so stuck to my opinion. And at the time, I didn't realize that ops had authority over me and the other non-ops, so that was part of the reason. Also, like I mentioned in my above paragraph, I think getting threatened with punishment for something as harmless as what I did on Chat is kinda' unfair. And given how I was treated on that fateful day, that is so far the stupidest reason to ban someone from a chatroom that I've ever heard. It's one thing to ban an annoying troll, but to ban a food-lover who unintentionally makes people "uncomfortable", (whatever you mean by that)? I never intended to make you guys uncomfortable, and I do apologize for that, since I never got to. I only retaliated like that, since you people were annoying me with all your complaints over something you could simply avoid by using the "/ignore" command....and I apologize for the retaliation too.
"That ban will remain permanent, especially seeing as your memory of the event is skewed and believe you are the innocent victim."
OK, I'm not totally innocent, and I certainly didn't believe I was. I did overreact towards a ban that was only two weeks long, and I was being unnecessarily reckless and idiotic. But the fact is, I hate getting harsh treatment over petty issues, and I absolutely hate getting stupid punishments such as "You cannot participate in a food-related discussion, if your name is Tanookimario226", or something like that. And my memory is not skewed. I remember exactly what happened: I join the chat, I spend a few days there, then I join in a roleplay session, taking things to the extreme and receiving many complaints to stop. I get away with it for a couple of chat sessions, until I finally get kicked, and then I stop. Then I stay on chat for longer, and I continue my food-based RP'ing, (though not nearly as dark), then a few people start asking me about my roleplaying style, and later, they get "uncomfortable", leading to an argument, where I get annoyed with them too, and then it gets broken up. Then I mention one sentence of food, I get kicked, and then the ban comes as soon as I rejoin.
"Many of the things you posted were graphic and unsettling for members of our chat, not to mention that your "appeal" is littered with untruths."
Um, read the part of my reply right below the first quote. Also, those are not "untruths", that's just the story from my point of view. And another thing, you weren't there when it happened, SMB. How do you know about this, and how did you get involved?
Simply put, yes, I'm guilty; no denying that. But I have learned from my mistakes back there, just like how I learn from all my other mistakes before and after the incident, and I understand everything. If you guys would just let me back in, so I could reunite with my friends again, (this is literally the only chatroom I've joined where I actually made friends), and not godmod, and keep my food-talk to a minimum, I will really appreciate it, and I don't even care if my slate isn't clean after this. I am just incredibly sorry for all the trouble I caused! 99.5.233.244 00:19, 12 November 2013 (EST)
- My explanation wasn't an invitation to continue asking to be unbanned, the decision is final. I am unable to actually post logs here because 1) it's inappropriate 2) this isn't the place to do such a thing; but I can assure you and everyone else that they are readily available to all of the mods within the entire community. It does not matter what promise you make to tone it down; you've already committed the offense and nothing will change that. In addition, it should not be the responsibility of everyone to ignore your behavior that was repulsive and unwanted by everyone in there. Operators shouldn't be setting /ignore on anyone anyways, because then how will the job be done? It would be great if you stopped shifting the blame onto everyone else for what you did, and it would be even better if you could drop this subject entirely because you will not be unbanned. If you did not want the "harsh treatment" of having our rules enforced equally on you as it is everyone else, perhaps you should've listened to the countless warnings and took the kicks as a serious indicator of an impending ban. And btw SMB is the owner of #mwchat so he is most obviously going to be involved, and it is also the only channel you're banned from. You are welcome to go into other unofficial chatrooms owned by members of the community you may have befriended. - Hypnotoad (T|C) 00:53, 12 November 2013 (EST)
