Earth Vellumental Temple curator
The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.
- “Oh, thank you! I can't tell you how long I've been trapped in here...I'm actually the curator of this exhibit, you see. I realized that the divine image I crafted from my imagination alone was a bit...lacking...so I came here in search of the real thing. Yes, I admit the exhibit is a bit of a coin grab, but did I deserve to be folded so harshly by those Swoops?”
- —Earth Vellumental Temple curator, Paper Mario: The Origami King
The Earth Vellumental Temple curator is a minor character in Paper Mario: The Origami King, one of the various Toads found throughout the game in need of rescue. In this case, he is one of the seven Toads trapped in the Earth Vellumental Temple, very likely to be the last one rescued. In the main room of the temple, Mario must fill in the Not-Bottomless Hole in the pillar to get it to move up and down, and enter the cave on the left. Here, the curator is being harassed by two Swoops. He is noticeably distraught and panicked, as well as folded terribly. Mario must simply defeat the Swoops to rescue him.
Grateful for this, he introduces himself to Mario as the curator of the temple. He claims to have come in search of the real Earth Vellumental. He apologizes for the greedy factors (referring to the readings for 10 coins each and repeatedly asking for donations), but does not feel he deserved to be attacked by the Swoops. Here, his dialogue is noticeably shaky, likely due to him being shaken up from the whole experience.
The Earth Vellumental Temple curator is identical in appearance to the Mustard Café chef from Paper Mario: Color Splash.
