The Car Sponge from Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Description
"Soaks up liquid like nobody's business. Even more than ye olde regular sponge."
First appearance Paper Mario: Sticker Star (2012)
“This liquid transporter can carry an absolutely unbelievable amount of whatever beverage your prefer, but be warned: it gets HEAVY and MESSY.”
Sticker Museum plaque, Paper Mario: Sticker Star

The Car Sponge is a Thing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It is the strongest of the shield-based Things and is found in a secret room at Rugged Road. The room's location is hinted at by a trail of coins that appear after placing the Mountain Boulder scrap. Once collected, it remains in Mario's Album until it is turned into a sticker at a Sling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original position. It may also be purchased from the Shady Toad for 260 coins and sold as a sticker for 20 coins.

As a sticker, the Car Sponge takes up four squares in the Album. When it is used in battle, it drops in front of Mario and protects him from all attacks for three turns. When Mario attacks, the Car Sponge fades away and fades back in when he finishes. If an enemy uses a liquid-based attack, the Car Sponge absorbs it and launches it back at the enemies. After this happens or three turns pass, the Car Sponge leaves.

The Car Sponge can be placed into the Sticker Museum as #49, alongside the shield-based and sleep-based Things.
