World 9-8 is the eighth and last level of World 9 of Super Mario Challenge from Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS.

Course layout

Below the start area are three Blue Lava Lifts on tracks with two Flimsy Lifts, just to make sure the player does not fall into the lava if missed. Before it falls into the lava, the player must jump to another Blue Lava Lift. This will take the player past two red giant cannons. However, the player can't stand on them as Spike Traps stop that from happening. After this, a Super Mushroom can be picked up before the player goes past walls with Spike Traps on the ends and Lava Bubbles in between them. After this are two Parabones. If the player is good enough, the can get the first Checkpoint Flag soon afterwards. After this, Grinders on the track come at the player. After taking the Warp Pipe, the player will need to climb a bit to reach a Super Mushroom in a ? Block and start the next Lava Lift. A winged Big Piranha Plant will jump up at the player. The path then splits in two. The lower path has Boo Buddies, Grinders, and a Red Koopa Paratroopa. The player will then collect some coins. The higher path has the second Checkpoint Flag. After hitting it, the player will hit a P Switch, making all Brick Blocks coins. At the end of the higher path is a Grinder and the paths will combine. After this, Big Lava Bubbles come at the player. Some travel faster due to being winged. At the end, there is a Bull's-Eye Blaster shooting out winged Lava Bubbles and a Pipe that will take the player near the end, where a winged Big Thwomp guards the axe.

Challenges

  • Goomba - Go through at least one Checkpoint Flag and then reach the goal.
  • Bowser - Go through two Checkpoint Flags and then reach the goal.
