World 5-3 (Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels)
Template:Levelbox World 5-3 is the third level of World 5 in Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.
Layout
World 5-3 contains a puzzle the player must solve in order to progress through the level. By stepping onto a lift at the start of the level, it will begin moving across the area horizontally; when the platform moves past the fourth tree platform, it will loop around to directly after the starting platform. Above the tallest tree platform is a Hidden Block containing a power-up. To progress through the level, the player needs to bounce off of the two Koopa Paratroopas to reach the high Warp Pipe, which leads to an underground area with some Coins and a Coin Block before the exit pipe to the next area.
When the player jumps onto the first tree platform in the next area, Bullet Bills will begin firing from off screen. After a scale lift, the player has to jump onto a horizontally moving lift below and use a Koopa Paratroopa to reach the next platform. Afterward are three lifts that fall when the player steps onto them, followed by another scale lift and a small platform before the Goal Pole.
