World 1-1 (New Super Mario Bros.)
Template:Levelbox World 1-1 is the first level of World 1 in New Super Mario Bros. It takes place in a meadow with flowers, bushes, and mushrooms scattering the land. Peach's Castle is visible in the background for the first portion of the level. The level introduces the Goombas and Koopa Troopas with both red and green shells. It also introduces the Mega Mushroom.
Layout
The level starts in an area with some ? Blocks, one of which has a power-up, and a Goomba. After the area, there is a Brick Block with a coin. After that, some more Brick Blocks appear. The top one contains fourteen coins and a Super Mushroom and the one under it contains one coin. Mario then encounters a Goomba next to a Pipe. Mario then encounters another Goomba. Then, there is a pit. After the pit, there is a ? Block with a Mega Mushroom. After that, there are five Brick Blocks, three of which have coins in it, and a Goomba. Above the fifth Brick Block has a Hidden Block which contains a vine which leads to an area with a Brick Block with a 1-Up Mushroom and coins. If Mario did not climb the vine, he need to jump over a pit and a Warp Pipe. After that, there are five Brick Blocks, one of which has a power-up and another has a coin, and the first Star Coin. After that, there are some Koopa Troopas, a Goomba, many Brick Blocks, two of which contains coins and one of which contains a vine that leads to the sky with Red Coins, and three Hidden Blocks. After that, there is a Warp Pipe which leads to an underground room with Brick Blocks, coins, three Goombas, the second Star Coin, and a power-up. If the pipe is not taken, Mario will arrive at an area with three Brick Blocks with coins in them and a Hidden Block top of the middle Brick Block with a Star in it. After a pit, there is a ? Block containing a power-up. The third Star Coin is under three Brick Blocks; Mario has to ground pound them to get the Star Coin. There is another ? Block containing a single coin right after. There is a Goomba before the Warp Pipe Mario exits if he had gone to the underground bonus room. After the Warp Pipe, there is a Goomba, a green Koopa Troopa and four Brick Blocks, one of which has a coin. After a pit, there are three Brick Blocks, one of which contains a coin, and a red Koopa Troopa. Mario then reaches the flagpole after climbing Hard Blocks.
Star Coins
- Star Coin 1 - Found atop a ledge of blocks. Mario or Luigi will either have to jump off the blocks or be in Mega form to get this coin.
- Star Coin 2 - Found in the second pipe after the first star coin. The player will need to avoid destroying it with the Mega Mushroom.
- Star Coin 3 - Mario and Luigi will need to Ground Pound some Brick Blocks to obtain this Star Coin. The player cannot obtain this Star Coin in Small form.
