Template:Levelbox Whiplash Dash is the thirty-first level in Donkey Kong Country 3's semi-sequel, Donkey Kong Land III. It is also the first level in the Lost World.

In the second and final pipeline level, a toboggan must be used to travel across the area. As the Kongs ride through the pipe, they have to beware of a few dangerous Buzzes, as well as some other obstacles. Despite the fact that the monkeys are forced into a toboggan from the very start of the level, they are able to roam around the pipeline freely once a "No Toboggan" sign is crossed halfway through the stage. Besides Buzzes, Krimps appear a few times in this level, along with a few Kuchukas, who only appear in a Bonus Level. Whiplash Dash is one of the shortest levels in Donkey Kong Land III.

Level layout

When the Kongs begin this level, they automatically end up in an Auto Fire Barrel. It shoots them through a chain of other barrels, and soon to the toboggan. Once the vehicle starts to move, the heroes need to jump over several Buzzes and other hazards. After a while, the monkeys cross a sign, which makes the toboggan disappear. Therefore, they can now travel through the level freely. The group need to head east and hop over a few more Buzzes. Eventually, they need to jump into another barrel and shoot to the Star Barrel.

Instantly after hitting this barrel, the Kongs land in a toboggan. They must ride in it up and down more of the dark pipeline. As they go, they have to dodge even more Buzzes, along with a Krimp, who can interfere with the Kongs if they try to grab the letter G. Once they speed down a long hill, the heroes momentarily pass another sign. It makes the toboggan disappear again. On foot, the group must then dodge two Krimps to land in a barrel. It shoots them up to a Rotatable Barrel. With it, the monkeys must blast to the left and easily hit the flagpole to end the level.

Secrets

Bonus Levels

  • Near the end of the level, the Kongs will land in a Rotatable Barrel. With it, they should shoot to the right, although they would normally blast to the left where the flagpole is. If they start to walk to the east, they will come up to a Bonus Barrel. It will take them to the Bonus Level, where the heroes must travel through a small pipe, collecting nine stars. If they are hit by a Kuchuka, though, the bonus will end, so they should be careful. Once all the stars are obtained, the Bonus Coin will appear nearby.
  • When they Kongs see the first Bonus Barrel, they should jump over it. On the other side of this special barrel, they will suddenly land in a hidden Auto Fire Barrel. It will shoot them to the Bonus Barrel, leading to the stage's second Bonus Level. There, they heroes must ride in a toboggan and try to collect several stars. When they get all the objects, without bumping into a Buzz, the Bonus Coin will appear nearby.

DK Coin

  • Right after exiting the first toboggan, the Kongs encounter a Koin. They have to defeat it with a barrel to get the DK Coin off of it. So, they must head farther east and pick up a nearby barrel. When they carry it all the way back, they need to stand in the foe's shield and throw the object at a wall around them. The barrel will bounce back, and hit the Koin, giving the monkeys the DK Coin it had.
